Bunting-Matthews-Nylander
ROR-Tavares-Marner
Knies-Acciari-Jarnkrok
Kerfoot-Kampf-Engvall

Seems pretty solid. Kinda a bit of a waste using ROR on the wing considering his faceoff and defensive ability but he will probably be better off offensively on the wing. Moving JT to the wing instead seems not really necessary, I think ROR and him are similar in playstyle defensively and are both pretty slow up the middle.

If you play him on the wing I think ROR-Matthews-Marner would be the most annoying line to plan against in the league. All 3 are probably top-10 puck thieves among forwards, you don’t want your top line hemmed in their own zone against them and you don’t want to bank on your bottom-6 trying to contain them.

Decent chance Knies signs and pushes for a depth position. Pretty sure we're done doing moves up front, but may still make a move for a dman.

Hard to picture an in-season trade that would work though, as we'd have to ship out a dman to make it work I think.

What is Kane really going to show that anyone who has watched him play for the past 10 years not already know?

The only due dilligence the Leafs would need to do is get a doctor involved to solve the rumours of the hip issue.
The last ten years are irrelevant to what he has now. That’s self evident.

Kane suddenly becomes a lot more appealing to me. If he only wants to come to Toronto (I think after this move, his interest coming here definitely increases) then his price to acquire should be pretty cheap.

Agreed. We have more physicality now, and a C good in the dot. If the acquisition cost for Kane isn’t very high, go for it. If a deal can’t be worked out, ask about Comtois, who might also be somewhat discounted.

I’m not sure of the lineup now, but Holmberg has been better than a number of forwards still in the lineup.

I’m back on the go all in for Chychrun bandwagon. It appears the future is out the window with this trade.

24 1st, Sandin, Minten, Kerfoot for Chychrun

Only way we can add is money in/money out. I don't think Kane makes sense unless the Hawks and the 3rd team don't want picks.

If the Leafs are going to add, I think it'll be for someone a lot less known and expensive.

While I doubt they will go for Kane, at 75% retention his cap hit is $2.625 million.

They can fit that in with not much effort.

It's not really about effort, moreso the Leafs have no picks to move to entice both the Hawks and the 3rd team. They could use prospects, but that seems unlikely.

If Toronto is the only destination Kane is willing to be moved, you’re not getting top value anyways. Kerfoot + Ty Voit or Fraser Minten might get it done with Chicago flipping Kerfoot for that draft pick.

I don't think Kane has much value unless they expand the deal

I would do Kane 75% and McCabe 50% and send Sandin, Robertson + Kerfoot as a base. Kerfoot can be flipped for picks.

Not impossible, but I think they move towards something a lot less easier to navigate cap space wise. They made their big addition.

They'll probably Abruzzese/Robertson him. If he can sign before the playoffs, he'll play but when the playoffs start, unless he's making Matthews levels of impacts in his stint, he'll be in the press box ready to jump in if someone gets injured or sucks.

Kerfoot - Tavares - Marner
Engvall - O’Reilly - Jarnkrok
Aston Reese - Kampf - Acciari

I wonder if we see something like that to start off. Sucks for Holmberg and even Anderson as both have been playing well but O’Reilly and Acciari make us a lot better and harder to play against.

A Laughton/Soucy type acquisition now would really round out the team nicely. even something like Lafferty or pulju.

Pulju just for the memes when he scores in the playoffs cus f*** the oilers boys.

I'd keep Holmberg over ZAR. Smarter player.

Puljujarvi would be a real nice addition now. Would be a huge upgrade on Aston Reese.

Acciari - Kampf - Puljujarvi

Probably one of the best shutdown lines IMO.

I have a funny feeling the Leafs will find a way to keep Holmberg in the lineup. We'll see. Not sure Holmberg will be thrilled to go back to the Marlies full time, he's been playing really well.

ZAR hits a lot and PKs well though so right now, I don't see it.
