he's worse than Timmins. It's probably impossible to overstate how bad of a move it would be for Dubas to go after Myers. Luckily it's coming from an extremely unreliable source
I'll be honest with you. That is me giving Myers the benefit of 10000 doubts.

As long as others see it too.....thank you sir. lol

I've come tp dismiss the evaualtion of some teams player by Leafs fans.

Same as I disregard non-Leafs fans evaluation of Leafs players.
You aren't referring to Myers, I hope. lol

I'm no scout but even I've watched Myers enough to know he isn't very good

I also know he's making 6M

I don't understand why we'd even be interested in him, which makes me doubt it's true

He makes Holl look like a Norris candidate

Just as an aside I wouldn't be against bringing Holl back next season, he's underrated imo
At a modest increase to say $2.25 AAV, I would be too. Just can't go very much higher or he prices himself out of Toronto's cap structure with Timmins now signed and ready to take his minutes.

I am not so sure that is the case, even though he will likely be trusted to do so (and the Leafs will find someone else as insurance).

I would be shocked if Holl gets less than 3.5 mill on the open market. All of his comparables are in that 3.5-4 mill range, and he is arguably better than all of his comparables.

And I agree 100% with everything you said. It means that Liljegren and Brodie will play most of the hard RD minutes until Timmins gains the trust of the coaches to do more. Not entirely sure that's a loss overall.

Well like where does he play? Are we trading Holl away and giving that extra ice time to Liljegren and Myers plays on the 3rd pair as the 6th d man? When you got a guy like Chychrun making 2.5 mil less than Myers and is a legit top 4 guy with 2 years left on his contract then making a move for Myers makes zero sense when he makes 6 mil and only has 1 more year on his contract after this season. If Chychrun for some reason doesn't work out he's still a valuable asset people would want on that contract, Myers we'd most likely be stuck with no matter what.
I was being sarcastic

I was not impressed by either. If that is their best effort against a contender.....pass.
The Boone Jenner love is next level, I dont get it. He won't change much considering the price to acquire.

Not to mention he won't be moved by Columbus anyway.

Hes a guy we can keep for many years and can be a 2LW or a 3C. He plays a good style for playoffs and his production of late has been very strong. Its the AAV that makes him so attractive, we need to add someone who has term for a cheap contract that can contribute and make a difference in the playoffs and add some depth. We are wayyy less deep upfront than all the other top teams in the east. Tampas add of Hagel was a very good play by them because of how cheap his contract was and he had a bit of term.

Jenner has 2 goals and 4 points in his last 20 playoff games.

The Leafs need someone who can score.

Columbus is not trading Boone Jenner and he is not moving the needle for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He would be a waste of assets if Columbus even considered moving him, which they aren't.

There are several other players the Leafs would be better off pursuing in terms of need & availability.

Myers at 6M, no but if vancouber retain some salary and get him around 3-4M... why not

Big physical shutdown D, its whats leafs need and playing for the 1st time of his carreer in a real defensive system can raise myers strenght and hide his weakness

Something like
brodie-Myers/Holl
Rielly-Holl/Myers
Giordano-Liljegren

3 pretty balanced pair in D who can play against anybody, anytime ...

Im probably the only one here whos not totally against it....

“Shutdown” and a defensive system “raising Myers strengths”

Just because he’s big doesn’t make him a shutdown D

As promising as Timmins has looked, He's also had the lowest % of defensive zone starts on the team, highest % of starts on the fly and highest % of offensive zone starts 5v5.

Holl is a polarizing player but he also leads the team in Dzone starts and lowest % of Ozone starts which shows just how much the coaching staff trusts him defensively and he's doing this on a quality defensive team.
