Crouse also won't be playing 18 minutes and I doubt he maintains the almost 17% shooting percentage he has had over the last 2 years either.
I don't see why Crouse wouldn't be on the top two lines here and play 16-18 minutes. And he's never had linemates like he would have here either. Playing with a guy like Marner it wouldn't surprise me to see him completely take off.

Apologies in advance, but that is the dumbest thing I have read in awhile.

You want to waive (and lose) a defender who is slotted in to the bottom pairing RD position next season to keep a f'n pending UFA this season in Kerfoot? Plus waive him over other pending UFA's in Schenn and Gustafsson?

He is the same age and from the same draft as Liljegren. So he's only going to get better.

The Leafs still have to ice a team next season, so glad we have a GM who can think 5 minutes or more into the future.

Please use logic. Please.
We don’t even have to waive him, we can keep both.

But you’re overrating Timmins just like you did with Malgin and many other young players you can’t seem to get a read on.

4 months ago Timmins had virtually no value but because of 2 good months now he’s untouchable!

Driving vs. Flying.
That's still a thing?
When we headed down to the game in Columbus no one asked us about vaccinations.
Foreign nationals cannot enter the US via air without being vaccinated because of Biden's EO. That condition is set to expire May 11, but it has been extended several times before.

This is a wild one. Hronek is pretty good and I think this was a smart buy for Vancouver. Not sure they should be trading picks but it's clear they want to retool.

Leafs did well to get a first for Sandin. Hronek is much better.

Also this might signal the Red Wings are waiving the flag.

If we're going to run Tavares and ROR in the top 6 we need either a play driver for the 3rd line because Kampf and Jarnkrok certainly won't or we need a strong defensive player and basically use our 3rd line to take some defensive workload off the top 2 lines

So who and what do we think the cost could be? We have that first and maybe a Kerfoot and/or depth defenseman trade for picks and a middling prospect to give up (my ballpark on a potential futures package)

Haha what. Hronek seemed like a top pair guy this year. Interesting Detroit would sell for futures.

Also Vancouver clearly has no appetite for a rebuild, still think we can move Kerfoot for something there

Nico Sturm?

Well, you just confirmed for all - you just don't know hockey at all.

The real life Alex Kerfoot of the board.

For the record, Malgin is and still was the best of the options they had at the time.

If you want, start a poll. Ask who here would waive Timmins for nothing, to keep Kerfoot.

No Robertson was.

He can do that because of his US non-resident work visa.

He gives that up if he is based in Canada.

I wonder if he can keep his Visa as he's paying some of his taxes in US states (I believe athletes pay taxes where they play. So for road games they pay taxes on their earnings in that city for that game).

Hronek is a good acquisition for a Vancouver team that obviously isn't interested in an outright rebuild. The return could be quite something for Detroit though depending upon where in the draft order that 1st ultimately lands.

That's what troubles me most about going after Bertuzzi. You have to deal with Yzerman and that's no fun.
Yzerman doesn't really trouble me too much honestly. It's just a good GM dealing with the clowns in Vancouver. Any competent GM was going to win that.
Bertuzzi isn't really my main target anyways. Honestly I rather pay the extra for Buchnevich if available.
