Nico Sturm?

I'm not sure I've even seen his name brought up here, we could put together a decent package for a middle 6 forward

I think we need to, I don't love our 3rd line
Hronek is a fine player and still young, but should a team in a Canucks situation be trading 1sts and 2nds?
No but when did that ever stop them?

Fabbro???
Tanev??
Get holl out lol

But I’ve always said when holl is on our third pair or 7th guy then we’ll have a legit D
Not criticizing holl, he’s fine he’s just not a top 4 and he’s also a ufa, don’t let him walk for nothing

If we're going to run Tavares and ROR in the top 6 we need either a play driver for the 3rd line because Kampf and Jarnkrok certainly won't or we need a strong defensive player and basically use our 3rd line to take some defensive workload off the top 2 lines

So who and what do we think the cost could be? We have that first and maybe a Kerfoot and/or depth defenseman trade for picks and a middling prospect to give up (my ballpark on a potential futures package)
Keefe has said that he will eventually have the #3C's on their own lines. If so, I would try this.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Kerfoot - O'Reilly - Nylander
Jarnkrok - Tavares - Acciari
ZAR - Kampf - Lafferty

Troy Terry or Konecny with 2 million retained would be nice.
If we flop in the playoffs again we could flip Nylander for 1st round picks and prospects to fill up the cupboard again because he's going to cost 10 plus, but at same time essentially replacing him with Konecny or Terry.
Willy is going nowhere
He has been a different player this yr
Marner is on another level

Mathews has been average this yr.

If Matthews bring his A+ game he is not the one to lead us. No more excusses

Have to believe Detroit goes hard after Chychrun now which would really be a solid first pairing with Seider.

Should be a good gauge of what Gustafsson is worth
Gostisbehere is a $4.5 million cap hit, while Gustafsson has an $800k cap hit. 31 points in 52 games for Gostisbehere, and 38 points in 61 games for Gustafsson.

That cap hit difference should - in theory - mean some serious value added there. Any team in the league can make room for an $800k cap hit. The number of contenders able to take on a full $4.5 million cap hit was small.

Thinking a 2nd (+) at minimum.

Dreger says the sense is something is developing with Chychrun on Overdrive

Detroit has entered the chat.

This would be amazing, if only Kerfoot could score.

Canucks have been looking for a younger RHD.

I don't hate this for them. Solid top 4 guy. Perhaps a little too much but who can figure out what the hell the price is for anyone?

I think the Canucks try and unload Miller or Boeser.

Next year it's Myers.

Poor Canuck fans. Lol

So how has it all shook out so far for the Leafs (picks canceling each other out)?

In:
O'Reilly (75% retained)
Acciari
Lafferty
McCabe (50% retained x2 more years)
Schenn
Gustafsson
5th
5th

Out:
Abramov
Gaudette
Sandin
Andersen
Gogolev
Engvall
1st
2nd
2nd
3rd
4th

Am I missing something?
Missing the additional 1st is the first thing i noticed

A few thoughts… 1. If Dubas isn’t after a goalie, and my presumption is that 1st rounder is definitely getting moved before Friday, then what forward is available that we can squeeze in?

2. I have no idea what the Canucks are doing LOL…. A team in their situation should not be moving picks. But they’ve been a dumpster fire for about a decade now
