they will. just have to wait for Dubas to acquire a 2LW for Tavares.

Matthews
Tavares
O'Reilly
Kampf/Acciari

These are our C's in Game 1 against Tampa.
I dont understand waiting for anything

Play the way you want to in the playoffs now.. seems like there is always creative overthinking BS with this team

You have 4 good centers.. play 4 f***en centers. Let them get acclamated to their roles now.. not in late march

Leafs Aren't Shopping for a Goalie

The Toronto Maple Leafs made three deals on Tuesday, a week after making a blockbuster with St. Louis for Ryan O'Reilly and Noel Acciari, and a day after landing Jake McCabe and Sam Lafferty from Chicago. All told, none of those deals involved a goalie, and Friedman said he doesn't expect the team to trade for one before the deadline.

"Well, the one thing I think a lot of people are wondering is if they're gonna go after a goalie, and (from) what I can tell, the answer to is no," Friedman said. "Now, I've been surprised by a few things that have happened over the last 24 hours. But I have looked into whether they are in the market for a goalie, and I keep getting told no."

The Leafs have had a degree of success this season on the back of de facto No. 1 Ilya Samsonov, but Matt Murray, GM Kyle Dubas' other off-season goalie acquisition, has been sidelined for large portions of the season with injuries.

Friedman added that more moves are likely in the offing for the Leafs because they now have, after Tuesday's moves, nine defencemen on their NHL roster.

"Are you gonna have people unhappy because there's just no room for them?" Friedman said. "The other thing I'm wondering is, do you move someone out so that you don't get people grumbling, that, 'Well, I had a role before and now I don't have one?'"

I don't think Philly is selling.

As has been discussed many times here, Bertuzzi can't really play here, due to his Vaccine status. The US Border still requires vaccinations, for people travelling to the US, who aren't employed there.

Would love Crouse as well, also doubt they'd move him, without a dumb overpay.

Konecny might be available, but he's also injured for an extended time so probably not worth it

As it stands today, the bottom 6 is probably just as bad as last year. Really can't afford another season where they lose from a lack of depth scoring when we've known it's been a weakness in the playoffs for several years

The bottom 6 added more gritty players harder on the forecheck and arguably more scoring over last year's playoffs. The 3rd line isn't ideal however.....

Kerfoot - Kampf - Jarnkrok
ZAR - Acciari - Lafferty.

But once they go back to 3 lines, it might look like this.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Jarnkrok - O'Reilly - Nylander
Kerfoot - Tavares - Acciari
ZAR - Kampf - Lafferty

I'm 12 hours in front of you, tomorrow is another day. I'll let you know, but so far this has been a joy ride.
aha i'm in bangkok too. My sleeping schedule this week is so ***ed ,staying up for the trades and I want to watch the game tonight. Prob sleep 4 am - 8 am.

I think they will go with three lines and hope JT will be dominant against opposing bottom 6.

The 4th line is clearly better. The third is still problematic though
Absolutely. 3rd line has no identity, but we have to remember that the big 3 C's will have their own line.

This looks better.....

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Jarnkrok - O'Reilly - Nylander
Kerfoot - Tavares - Acciari
ZAR - Kampf - Lafferty

I miss Bangkok and Phuket

With all the experiment on JT as LW, do you think they will go with JT-Acciari-Lafferty as a 3rd line and left ZAR-Kampf-Kerfoot as their 4th line?

AKA Justin Holl and why we moved Sandin

I wonder if they’ll eventually try a top six of:

O’Reilly - Matthews - Marner
Bunting - Tavares - Nylander

I mean it's perfectly logical, they'll use O'Reilly in the top 6 regularly to get him some extra shifts and when we're trailing in games. Give him a chance to build some chemistry with those guys before moving him into his 3C spot.

I respect that but for me it is just pissing around for the sake of it

Oreilly and acciari arent neurtic magicians you dont really need to put in work to figure things out on their behalf

Do it the other way .. oreilly at center and see which third line options compliment a shut down

555, ti nai krub? I'm a Sukhumvit expat and trying to wake up in the morn is difficult some days, but gosh this is exciting.

Laughton and Konecny definitely fit the recent mandate. The former might not be that expensive to acquire, but his 3M cap hit might be a tough one to fit for his value.

I do believe they'd be asking for a ton for Konecny. He's also injured for awhile.

Thanks... I probably should have been clearer... I don't think Philly views themselves as a rebuild candidate, so I don't think they are selling off "core" younger pieces. Expiring UFA's, absolutely, smart business. But Konecny is 25, so doubt he's on the table. I mean, sure if he was.. but as you say... now that he's potentially out for the season, it doesn't make sense... I didn't realize that he could be out for the season until you made me look...

""

So yes, he's out of the question no matter what Philly see as their future path.

He's potentially out for the season... Konecny, so it's kind of irrelevant now.

With ROR, Acciari, and Lafferty I'm less interested in Laughton right now .. I'd look for a more of a legit scoring winger first

Perron would be a great add if Detroit is selling. So would Kubalik.

Duclair if Florida is selling.

Maybe you could pry Dube out of Calgary

Kubalik is someone I completely forgot about. Good name to bring up. I'd be interested as well. Perrons age and 1 more year left on his contract makes me nervous.

Duclair would be amazing. Just came back from a big injury, so I would be a little hesitant.

Troy Terry would be my favourite scoring winger to go hard after.
