They will 100% leave him a contract spot. I think they'll try him out for a few games but I doubt they will leave a spot wide open for him to come in and play over a veteran. Not sure he's someone I'd expect to play in the playoffs.

I reserve the right to change my opinion depending what happens in the next 2 days.
I find it hard to judge guys coming out of the NCAA - AHL is a bit more predictable.

Kreider for example came out of the NCAA near the end of the season, and made an immediate and noticeable impact in the playoffs. Hyman though as another example, who was pretty highly touted, spent a year in the AHL first. Then there are obviously plenty of busts out there.

Anyway, I hope we see him this season. I'm not expecting anything out of him, but it will at least help in determining how NHL ready he is.

2 1sts + Lily for Chychrun (50%). That satisfies Armstrongs three firsts trade demand. I'm sure Dubas can squeeze a few more players out of this deal.

Chychrun Brodie
Rielly McCabe
Gio Schenn

PP1: Tavares-Marner-Matthews-Nylander-Chychrun

If Dubas can add a top nine forward, this would be a DEEP team and probably put us over the top.

Subban had been playing in the AHL.

Korpisalo wouldn’t be a terrible pickup. May play better behind our team than their’s, and provide the depth we need in case Murray just Murrays.

Be hilarious if Chychrun goes nowhere.

I also can't see the Leafs' acquiring Schenn only to hold onto Holl.

Keep in mind McCabe and Brodie can play the right side, so even for depth it doesn't make sense between them and Timmins.

The Engvall move indicates to me that Dubas' isn't afraid to gain assets and parlay them into helping the team out in other ways.
