hey that's some narrative you've established - you've managed to pick out what looks like the only stats that support this. Good job. I'm still taking Jeannot any day of the week over Acciarri. Im not going to go stat fishing to see if I can do the same.

Wait, so points, blocked shots, hits, giveaways, takeaways, and penalties drawn/taken are cherry-picked stats?

What?????

Dub, come on man

Let's wait until the trade is done and until the Leafs are done. The Leafs want to bolster their D so it's possible the assets aren't necessarily prioritized the same.

Jeannot doesn't give us a better chance at winning either. Come on. If ROR doesn't help, Jeannot certainly doesn't.

What if it's ROR and Jeannot. Then your chances significantly go up
They can be really good complimentary pieces

Yeah Nashville's been awful this year - assumed you knew that. They also play different roles, he plays more and has the puck more - thought you knew that too. These stats don't mean much to me in that context. I watch a lot of NSH as I've like them for a while. He's also 4th in the league in fighting majors - so he can back up whatever he throws. Given the context of what this team is probably needing and all. Again - agree to disagree here.

So predictable lol.

Watch how he fits into that system like a glove. His impact will be diminished in here but he'll make them even nastier to play against.

Watched NSH vs. BOS the other night. NSH is painful to watch offensively as a group. Jeannot was the lone bright spot and had multiple one man show shifts.

Will enjoy reading the takes in this thread slagging him. The Acciari take is already a gem, and I say that as a big Acciari fan.
They’ve needed goal scoring for years and haven’t been able to find it. I’m glad Poile is retiring and hopefully Trotz can get them back on track.

Same here. Loved the ROR & Acciari trade. Even laughed at the melters for Boston acquiring Orlov.

This is different. Jeannot is a unique talent that would only ever be moved in a down season, which he’s having. Similar to the ROR situation…. No chance he’d ever be moved if he and the Blues weren’t having a down season. Tampa is extremely smart to buy low on him.

My apologies for not including the ever impactful fighting majors stat.

You do agree though that it will really suck if Tampa gets him

It would suck, but then again, some perspective. People legitimately believe this is the singular move that will be the difference maker in the playoffs. We are doomed because of Jeannot!!!

You know deterrence it's like a lot of things - you often don't have to fight if they know you're willing to. It's the package not the skill. Notice I'm not advocating for Schenn, Reaves, Deslauries, Watson, etc for that reason either.

So? Do you want us to go and pay for some bad players to?
No, I would like us to actually win when it matters when our roster is said to be filled with superior players than our opponents, especially when these opponents pick up players who supposedly weren't good enough to play for us and would've made us a worse team.

My head says Jensen is the right acquisition but my heart wants Schenn.

Would just love to see it come full circle with Schenn. Would be great for him to come back to the team that drafted him to potentially win one.
