NJ didn't touch their top-3 by the sounds of it .... pretty impressed NJD could still get this done. Zetterlund has a lot of potential still though.

It is very funny that the unrest is that another Eastern Conference team acquired Jeannot, while another team in the conference is acquiring Meier.

I made my peace with NJ getting Meier 2 weeks ago when it was reported he was going there or to Vegas or Carolina. He would have been perfect - we would have had to give up everything.

Actually not a bad return. A lot of parts but decent return
Some players can play now and some in the future

East just got a bit better from last week. As always, East just ramps up

I see it more as quantity for quality. Sure SJ could make hay with those picks but I don’t see a sure fire blue chip guy .. not giving up Holtz or Nemec is a massive W for NJ.

Meier is that coveted power forward entering his prime with control.

Conditional 1st is probably on re-signing. Just a guess.

That's for sure
I would take one sure hitter vs potentials

Didn't know the Leafs were projected to face the Devils in the 1st rd.

Crazy that on the LEAFS board, the focus is on Tampa bay. Crazyyyyy LMAOO

You're never gonna win a deal when you're trading a guy like Meier.

Nj is in a enviable position. Cant imagine they dont re-sign him.

For sure, but it’s probably a good deal for both teams. Devils has the best offer, everyone else dropped out… so they got the most they could in the circumstances. Sharks did well under the circumstances, for a player they wouldn’t resign. Particularly considering the QO.

Noting Acciari has more points this year than Jeannot, cost a fraction of the amount and provides a similar level of physicality. We already traded for a Jeannot type. Not that I’m opposed to more, but don’t forget this.

There is no world that accari has a similar level of physicality as Jeannot.

Jeannot is a beast. Not all hits are the same

Focus should probably be on the Leafs. Ya know, the team that acquired Ryan O’Reilly, who has been a stud for us so far, Noel Acciari, who has made that fourth line look so much better.

Much more fun than gloom and dooming while our team is beating Seattle quite convincingly over a depth player who has yet to even be traded, let alone traded to Tampa Bay

The Meier trade is a win-win.

San Jose gets a

I don't think it's doom and gloom, but I think you're underestimating the sort of impact he may have in our series. Considering we were eliminated by Nick Paul and his dominant game 7 performance, Jeannot can easily do the same. He's a physical monster that we'd have a very hard time containing over 7 games

Realistically, we upgrade on either Kerfoot or Engvall with another Acciari type and find another Jake Muzzin.
