Yeah, I'd do it. Eriksson has the best contract in the league and would become likely the team's best and most complete player. Maybe he can kickstart Richards again as they played on the same line when he was above PPG. Losing McD would suck, but we have the depth in LHD to still have it as a position of strength. Staal-Del Zotto-Skjei.

Werent you just crapping on Skjei yesterday? He's not anywhere close to ready anyway

I am NOT for a trade for Louie Eriksson.

First of all, you only have one RW on the ice at the time. This is not WC in RWs. We have Nash and Callahan, the best 1-2 RW punch in the league arguably. It's just not a position we need to upgrade. With Nash and Cally, we are perfectly alright with like a Fasth or Zucc or whatever as our 3rd line RW...

Second of all, Louie Eriksson is very good but not great. I've seen a ton of him over the years. Not only for Frolunda and Dallas, but also alot for Sweden in international games.

He gets to be THE man in Dallas, and does a great job at getting pucks into the net. But he is not great 2-ways. He not great at getting pucks up ice. He is not that good at moving the puck. He isn't a threat with a shot from any distance. He is not a core guy on any PP. He needs a buss load of ice and chances, and sure, with it, he can play at this level. But he is not a core player on a great team. He is not a core player on a great team. If you give up what it costs for us to get LE, I'd want a core player on a great team.

We have so much depth and so much going for us for the future.

But what we really really really lack is that one player who steps up and makes it happen offensively and makes the players around him better. Especially on D. But also to a extent up front.

We need, and especially our PP, needs a left handed forward who can pass the puck, and preferably also shoot it.

He plays LW

if the Rangers can package a Gaborik, Boyle, Stralman for Eriksson plus a rental F like Nystrom and take the contract of Robidas does Dallas not think about it?

add some picks and prospects both ways

Just fkin trade Kreider already. He's more valuable to us that way rather than playing with 2 black holes

If/When Gaborik is traded I think we'll see him on the 2nd line with Step and Cally...

Unless Miller gets the nod up cause of Torts man crush on him...

Miller hasn't been good...

...but Kreider's been worse. So the RIGHT move is to move Kreider up, but moving Miller up would be due to Torts' man crush?

No they would be rebuilding

If Dallas is rebuilding why would they want an older Gaborik? If they were to even consider trading us LE I'd imagine they would want combinations of Stepan/Kreider/Miller/MDZ

But why hasn't Kreider been good? Look at his line mates all year. Can't do that to someone with that much potential.

Torts has also killed Kreider's confidence. All year just a constant dumping to the media. "Chris has to learn how to be a professional"... "Chris has been playing like ****"... "He's not doing anything bad but he's not doing anything good either"... There are some things better left unsaid to the public. Those are conversations you have in private with the player himself. Instead, Torts calls up another prospect, praises him a lot more often for his "cool and calm collectiveness" despite the player making equally as many mistakes, and gives him far more opportunities to succeed than he does with Kreider.

I think its the fault/preference of the coach, not the player, in this scenario.

Rebuilding teams don't want players who ages are 31, 28 and 26 respectively. Not to mention there are no draft picks in your proposal.

You'd put Callahan as an untouchable for Loui Eriksson, the most complete winger in the NHL and signed to a bargain contract? :help:

You don't trade players like Ryan Callahan. :shakehead Name the last time a player in the Ryan Callahan mold was traded, not counting players who are way past their prime and in the twilight of their careers.

Unless you're getting Sidney Crosby, Ryan Callahan is as untouchable as it gets.

This is a joke. Ryan Callahan is a 2nd line player at best. Loui Eriksson is a 1st line talent who is better defensively and miles ahead offensively.

And to answer your question, I raise you one Mike Fisher in 2011 just off the top of my head.

I can safely conclude that Ryan Callahan is one of the most overrated players in Rangers history with comments like these.

Because when I want an unbiased opinion of Callahan, I seek out the guy who insisted he was a third line grinder.

I've seen this mentioned a couple of times and it was taken way out of context. I said Callahan has the skillset of a 3rd line grinder. Not that he is a 3rd line grinder. Brendan Morrow, Jarret Stoll, Ryan Smyth and Shawn Horcoff all have the skillset of 3rd line grinders and they've put up around 70 pts in their peak years.

He just is a fan favorite and people have problems letting them go. For instance, there were better players than jeter but he was as untouchable as u can get. Callahan does mean a lot to the Rangers than anyother team though

Please, let's not compare an all-time legend and catalyst for the most dominant franchise in professional sports to Ryan Callahan.

Jeter is what I believe a 13 time all star, MVP candidate and bought it in the postseason. Callahan is none of those.
