Bieksa or Ballard to NYR??? they would add some grit on this lack of toughness on defense..
 
I really love reading the comments of trading Gaborik for grit.

When he's traded for grit, snarl, piss and vinegar, intangibles, etc, people will complain that there isn't enough skill/scorers on the team. Like clockwork.
 
So my buddy tells me he heard from a crappy source that the Rangers were going for Iginla. He then proceeded to tell me that someone from another hockey board mentioned the asking price/or deal in place was Hagelin + MDZ

:facepalm: Of course, it's complete bs and that's why I'm posting this here instead of the rumor thread, but funny nonetheless.
 
I wonder if Carter might be a discussed in a Gabby swap?

I am far from a Carter fan, but he is a bit more "Torts".

Which Carter we talking here? If its the one I'm thinking of, I don't see why LA makes that move.
 
Yeah the one who is on pace for a 45 goal season if full 82 for the guy looking at about 20 . Yeah LA does that deal ..... Ha
 
Re the Gabby rumor, I wonder if our brass might look at Carter? I don't like him, but he is a bit more "Torts".
 
If a bit more Torts means a few passionless no goal games from being canned and back at TSN yeah I don't think so
 
The Kings and the Rangers strike me as odd trading partners.

Scuderi + Toffoli + 2nd rd pick for Gaborik?

Brings Scuderi home! Syosset native.

Despite all, I remain steadfast (more hoping at this point) that Gaborik isn't dealt until the draft.
 
if LA, mike richards before carter.. richards is more tough, will fit in better.. i doubt gabs+ for Richards.. would love to have richards.. hated him on the flyers ofcourse but the guy is a solid player and is at the right age..

but we could dream that will happen..

its prob something around gabs for Justin williams and scudari

i wouldnt trade b. boyle, i am prob in the minority but i like how he plays and more about the effort and attitude.. you could tell he has a presence in the locker room as a good team player.. solid 4th liner..

i wouldn't mind Boyle (SJ) but it would def mean either buyout for richards this summer or Gabs is bein traded as well.. bc we cant afford to sign our RFAs, keep gabs and bring in Boyle..
 
Apparently Calgary is going to make some big changes at the deadline.

Forget Iginla - I'd go after Tanguay. Playmaking LW, 19 points in 24 games this season, and a $3.5M cap hit for the next 3 years. Only downside is he's 33, but his contract is fairly cheap for what he provides.

I actually think they make good trade partners bc they want scorer and are going hard after Iginla, so Gabs is probably backup plan if that doesnt work.. We need depth and dman help, they could help us with both.. and I agree sucadari for sure the + is a ?..

Not trying to sound harsh or a dick, but have any of you Ranger fans even thought about what any of your Gaborik offers do for LA?

None of your offers make any sense for LA what so ever. Justin Williams is the glue that holds the top line together, LA I believe has the youngest Defense right now so they'll trade Scuderi??

I'm sorry but some of these proposals are absolutely horrendous.

Rangers aren't getting Richards, Carter, Williams, Voynov, Scuderi for Gaborik, plain and simple. If any of those names do move for Gaborik, Lombardi deserves to be fired and I'll admit I was wrong.

Do you ever do anything else except cheerlead all of the Kings players? Seriously. At this rate, I hope that Sather can get Richardson for a 40 goal scorer.

You can't blame scarface, it's probably just as annoying with the Gaborik to LA proposals as it is for us to deal with the recent Girardi to Toronto proposals.

Look at it from a King's point of view.

Carter and Richards are locked up until after 2020, Gaborik has 1 year left after this season and is 31, Carter and Richards are 28.

Kings defense right now is, Doughty, Voynov, Muzzin, Scuderi, Martinez, Ellerby, makes no sense to move Scuderi.

Williams is the glue that holds the top line together and has chemistry with Kopitar since being in LA.

Brown is obviously a no.

I'm not saying Gaborik is a terrible player, but there i no deal I see that makes sense for LA what so ever.

Lombardi wouldn't trade Clifford or Toffoli for a Gaborik, he only moved Schenn and Simmonds because he got back a Mike Richards locked up for long term and in his prime, Gaborik is 31 years old and a UFA after next season. That's what I'm getting at, no proposals I've seen make any sense for the Kings, they're 8th in the NHL in Goals for despite being shutout last 2 games, it's been a lot of bad puck luck.

That's what I'm trying to get at is that none of these deals make sense for LA to do at all.

Right, I'm not posting here to belittle Gaborik or say he sucks, but none of these deals considering where the Kings are at right now and the make up of their team, make any type of sense for the Kings to consider or make the deal.
 
Seriously guys, LA has no interest in Gaborik at the prices some of you are throwing around. Plus his game just isn't made for the Kings ground attack offense. LA just gets in on the puck and pound the crap out of other teams, creates turnover and scores. Every player does this.
