I would try everything possible to get Glencross and Giordano from Calgary while Feaster still has a job. I'm sure if we dangle Gaborik they might throw in a first as well
I wouldn't sniff that trade if it was Hamilton and something significant.
You go from proposing for Taylor Hall, now you move on to a rookie defenseman, while giving up our best goal-scorer, 2 defensemen who both play top 4 minutes, and a 1st. Damn Berny, happy April Fools to you too buddy, you outdid yourself!
Handzus goes for a fourth round pick, sets the market for a guy like Boyle.
If BB can bring back a 3rd or 4th, sign me up.
Oi vey. Avoid the "Columbus is willing to part with a 1st thread" on the trade board... Not only is Gaborik not worth Brassard a prospect and the Rangers first, they honestly think they can get a mid 20's 30 goal scorer for Brassard and a 1st.

Well it was stated via twitter they are not moving the first for an older upcoming UFA, rather a younger player. That was straight from the GM through beat writers.
Unfortunately Gaborik is an older upcoming UFA. I don't blame the Jackets or their fans for not wanting to touch that. If they are going to move a first in this draft, they want to stay young. They're still in a rebuild, playoffs be damned.
“And don’t forget,†Kekalainen said, “we have three first-round picks. If one of them helps us now, and long-term, we would think about (trading a pick).â€
Gaborik isn't washed up he's got a few good years left in him IMHO. It's not out of the realm of possibility that we could add a prospect as well or a 2nd. I feel like they are really over valuing a mid 1st rounder. Although the CBJ poster is the same guy who was totally convinced they'd end up with one of McDonagh, Stepan or Kreider in ye package for Nash.
Honestly? I'd trade Christian Thomas, St. Croix, and a third to rent Roy on Wednesday. I might be in the minority on this board in that mindset though. Allows the Rangers to send Miller (or Kreider) down.
Hagelin - Roy - Miller/Boyle
Pyatt - Powe - Asham/Boyle
Unfortunately...Boyle is going nowhere. Torts loves the guy and uses him all the time on the PK and when holding leads. There is no way we will trade him.
Not sure what it would take, maybe a couple of prospects (not sure on his contract) but I would love Curtis Glencross. Goal-scoring hard-nosed player.
How about Andrew Yogan, Steven Fogerty and a 2nd round pick?
That might be pushing it too much in our favor, but that is probably the biggest move I would like to see this team make.
Overall, I think they need to strengthen this weak d-corpse (McD and Girardi seemed gassed still, MDZ has stepped up but with Staal out our depth is being exposed with other guys not having career years), by adding a veteran, battle tested d-man.
Outside of maybe Glencross or a defensive depth move, this team should stay put and not go all in on a lockout-shortened season.
The key to Glencross is to get him to waive his NTC.A player to watch is Flames winger Curtis Glencross. He makes $2.55 million and could be available for a draft pick. Glencross is a guy the Senators and other teams seeking forward depth covet
