He almost scored a goal, but he couldn't miss Brian Boyle's ass.
But didnt he punch fatso in the chest?

Back to the topic at hand.
With Girardi being close to re-signing, that puts the cross-hairs on Callahan, Boyle, Moore, and Stralman.
I would lean towards moving Callahan, Stralman and Boyle honestly. I think the Rangers could really re-coup some serious assets for those players and honestly, I bet all of them make it to UFA anyways so if they want them back, they can offer market value for them.
Callahan for A-level center prospect + lower line young forward + 1st
Stralman for 1st + middle-tier big bodied forward
Boyle for 2nd + prospect
That would be huge and someone tell me where the team really drops all that much from the roster. Top pairing is intact. Klein can easily move up to the top-4.
Callahan has been out quite a bit this year. On pace for ~45 points. 3rd liner with no PP time right now. His energy will have to be replaced, I think it can be done.
Boyle is already playing out of position on the 4th line. Dorsett can replace Boyle's PK minutes.
Negotiations with first-pair right defenseman Dan Girardi, also a pending unrestricted free agent, also have hit a road block. Girardi, who likely would yield a bigger bounty on the rental market than Callahan, is believed to be seeking a six-year deal in the neighborhood of $5.5 million per season, which represents fair market value. Sather is believed to have countered with a relatively low-ball offer of four years at approximately $4.75 million per.
Updated version: Callahan's future as Ranger in doubt; Girardi negotiations ongoing; NYR interest in Avs' McGinn.
We're told that they are targeting a right-handed defenceman. That would be the top of their wish-list and one name that I know will have some intrigue is Dan Girardi of the New York Rangers. However, at this point the Rangers are telling teams that they're not moving him, are focused on signing him and are confident at this point that those negotiations will possibly lead to a new deal.
Ryan Callahan is another unrestricted free agent for the Rangers. That negotiation is perhaps not as far down the road, and I don't know if the Rangers can get both done, but Girardi seems more likely.
In a team game everyone has a job to do... brown does his job better than Callahan that's all I'm trying to point out

I believe Rupp has (2)? NJ and Pitt?
Moot point really.
True. This shouldn't be ignored. But didnt he punch fatso in the chest?
Duuurrrr, yea, that's how it goes. Everyone has a job to do. Brown doing a better job than Callahan doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the nonsense you started spewing left and right. There's a reason why your posts are being quoted by numerous guys that truly, truly know their ****.

Callahan is a goner.
With the Rangers giving Girardi that type of money, they must not be confident about Staal. That's a lot of money for Girardi. Eddie O felt the Rangers needed to sign Girardi because Staal wasn't signing an extension.
LeBrun had the Rangers being hopeful/confident about last week. Not on Callahan.

But but.... I like Stralman....he's like the only guy who hips check on this team
I have little doubt that McGinn would be a fan favorite by the 1st intermission

LeBrun wrote about Callahan yesterday being on the block. Nothing about Girardi.
I don't understand why so many people are okay with $5M, or even $5.5M, but not $6M. I get the years thing. But if the years are agreed upon, would you really move on from Girardi over $1M/per, or even $500k?

Other than Eddie's quote what makes you think that?
I get how it seems strange, but would you give him $6.5 million? How about 7?I don't understand why so many people are okay with $5M, or even $5.5M, but not $6M. I get the years thing. But if the years are agreed upon, would you really move on from Girardi over $1M/per, or even $500k?
This is what I've been saying all along (although I'd have been okay with Girardi being traded and Stralman retained). I also wouldn't mind moving D. Moore.
And how much does the lineup really change?
Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Pouliot-Brassard-MZA
Hagelin-Richards-Fast
Carcillo-Lindberg-Dorsett
McD-Girardi
Staal-Klein
J. Moore-Allen
I have little doubt that McGinn would be a fan favorite by the 1st intermission
But yet there's no playoff goals? No cups?... brown knows what it takes to win
