please god, let slats make a trade and move ryan callahan. i love the guy but really its best for all parties. ryan needs to be traded.

i think jt miller deserves a shot on our 3rd line next year. hes got the body, the wheels and the edge to play a very good ryan callahan type e/s role with more size and a bit more nastiness.

thats the guy i would like to see replace callys minutes when hes moved.

i also think kristo is ready to push for top 6 minutes.

count me as someone who isnt clamoring for a serious roster overhaul from guys outside the organization. creative centerman is the exception.

OUT

beever- buy out
girardi or stralman- trade (prefer to keep the swede who has the better overall skills)
cally- trade
dom moore-gone

IN

young creative centerman aquired in the cally or girardi deal. we have zip in house.
jt miller- 3rd line. hell be ready
danny kristo- top 6 scoring forward. see jt miller above
oscar lindberg- 4c the swede will be an upgrade of dom moore.
mcilrath- 3d pair. time for the big guy to get his shot.

When it comes to giving out contracts, I can't say I'd argue cups trump everything.

Hank won the gold for Sweden, to Miller's silver in 2010. Now, that's a high stakes tournament as well, and unless you are 94now, you'd argue that goalies play just as hard in the SC playoffs and the olympics.

So what you have is a whole body of work to look at, regular season, playoffs, international tournaments. One of the reasons playoffs are harder is because you don't play as many weak teams, but then again that doesn't account for the fact that perhaps Quick and Brown played on a better team than Lundqvist, Callahan and the Rangers.

But yet there's no playoff goals? No cups?... brown knows what it takes to win

So it's Callahan's fault we haven't won a cup? Yeah, okay. Brown had a great playoffs the year they won the cup, but he hasn't done squat in the rest of his chances. 4 points in 18 playoff games last year.

But isn't that all that matters?... it seems some people all they care about is stats... and not even winning it all

Someone gave Brooks new info

Negotiations with first-pair right defenseman Dan Girardi, also a pending unrestricted free agent, also are ongoing. Girardi, who likely would yield a bigger bounty on the rental market than Callahan, is believed to be seeking a six-year deal in the neighborhood of $5.5 million per season, which represents fair market value. The Rangers have countered with two offers, one for six years at more than $5 million per and one for five years at more than $5.5 million per.

He updated the article removed the Girardi talks being stalled.

Looking at those numbers. Girardi will be signed.

Okay, this just got silly....

Is Patrick kane better than Crosby? People would say no... I would say yes cuz he's a ****ing monster in the playoffs but who wins the MVP?... I'd rather have a player with a cup than a player with a MVP... that being said.... I want Patrick kane :(

Playoffs:
Callahan: 0 cups in 59 games
Brown: 1 cups in 50 games

Yup he's a better playoff player

But isn't that all that matters?... it seems some people all they care about is stats... and not even winning it all

This isn't ****ing, Tennis. Or Golf. Get your facts straight instead of shooting off foolish statements that make absolutely zero sense. 1 player can only do so much in the NHL. It's a team game.

More of a team game than the NBA. And the NFL. And even Soccer.

Have you been watching hockey long? Serious question.

Rupper was awesome for us in 2012, when he managed to score an amazing zero points in 20 playoff games. What a ****ing winner.

We should have just traded Gaborik for Colin Fraser. We woulda been shoo-ins.

In a team game everyone has a job to do... brown does his job better than Callahan that's all I'm trying to point out

Back to the topic at hand.

With Girardi being close to re-signing, that puts the cross-hairs on Callahan, Boyle, Moore, and Stralman.

I would lean towards moving Callahan, Stralman and Boyle honestly. I think the Rangers could really re-coup some serious assets for those players and honestly, I bet all of them make it to UFA anyways so if they want them back, they can offer market value for them.

Callahan for A-level center prospect + lower line young forward + 1st

Stralman for 1st + middle-tier big bodied forward

Boyle for 2nd + prospect

That would be huge and someone tell me where the team really drops all that much from the roster. Top pairing is intact. Klein can easily move up to the top-4.

Callahan has been out quite a bit this year. On pace for ~45 points. 3rd liner with no PP time right now. His energy will have to be replaced, I think it can be done.

Boyle is already playing out of position on the 4th line. Dorsett can replace Boyle's PK minutes.
