@Sun_Tychkowski

Just saw Oscar Klefbom limping, badly, out of Rexall. Does not look like somebody who's coming back anytime soon.

Terrible news. He might be done for the year.

What the absolute **** is going on? Staph infection? How ****ing unlucky can the Oilers be?

How many of those 5 were ever actually thought to have that potential though. I dont think you realize how rare a PPG center is in the league. Guess how many there were last season.

I actually recognized the potential part later in another post. And that is my point exactly. There arent many PPG centers in the league, thats why I find it hard to believe Nuge is going to make such a drastic jump from 55 pts to PPG.

It boils down to what you think RNH can do strength wise. If he can get as strong as say Pavelski then why not? If you think that like Gagner he has already peaked then I can understand the skepticism. or me I saw a big improvement last season then he had the broken foot which would take time before being able to work on lower body strength obviously.

Ya I just don't see it in his game to be a top tier offensive center. He might have a career year where he puts up close to 70 points but I just don't see a ppg player in him.

There were exactly three point per game centres in the NHL last year. There are two right now. I don't think it's a damning criticism to say RNH doesn't have that in him.

If his baseline is 55 points, and I believe it's pretty close, he will probably be within the top-30 or so centres offensively for years and years. If the Oilers were counting on him to be the driving force on the top-line that really wouldn't be good enough, but in any other situation, RNH is an insane luxury to have.

Nelson is a UFA at end of season and that would be an over payment.

Nielsen is a UFA at the end of the year.

Brock Nelson is a 6'3 210lb 24 year old with as many points as Nuge and twice the goals signed to one of the best bargain contracts in the league (he'll be an RFA when it ends in 3 seasons).

I'm not sure the Islanders trade Nelson for Nuge straight up. There's no way you're getting him and Hamonic for Nuge+garbage.

What I'm saying is that he doesn't have to be one of the 3 best PPG centers in the league. Only two centers were PPG while not missing 10 or more games last season. If you think he needs that kind of production in his early 20's to be considered a success your expectations are way too high.

According to Eklund, we're about to make a trade for Hamonic.
I guess that means Hamonic will never come to Edmonton. :(

Staph infections are uggggglly. Its very rare, but in some cases of MMA fighters(along with other athletes in different sports) they have pretty much been career ending. I would bet hes done for the majority of the season, considering he can't skate on it until its healed

RNH for Josi makes more sense he can put puck in the net..hamonic scares me.

Josi is untradeable , what about sign and trade deal for Yandle? Could be had for cheap too considering it sounds like he doesn't want to resign in New York .

I messed up guys. I messed up bad. Don't ruin your lives by googling "staph infection" like I just did. Hold me.

I did it... Should have listened to you... Please heal fast and fully Oscar we need you back in the worst way, I am not surprised that he was limping out if I had a sore like a lot of those Google around my foot I would be limping like crazy as well.

The Preds would laugh and hang up.... Josi is a top 5 Dman in the league.

They wouldn't consider Hall + for Josi, I imagine.

HFOil underrates Josi constantly.

I don't think Nashville would deal him for absolutely anything we would offer. He's too important to their team.

it really would be the most "oilers thing" ever if klefbom loses his career to a freak thing like this.... he is one of only 2 useful dmen going forward (nurse being the other) and d is by far our weakest positional group, so OF COURSE this means that something very weird would happen to make this situation even worse long term.... because: oilers

i really wouldn't be surprised to have this be the end of his career, would ANY of you be shocked if that happened? always expect the absolute worse thing to happen with this team, and you'll likely still be disappointed
