I'd hope we can do better than that. We have a lot of leverage it seems, are no longer desperate and we now check all the boxes for him, and then some. With everything we have done lately, and with a top 4 d incoming a Giroux contract needs to deliver value right to the end.

I try hard to squeeze out 3x$5M and I think I walk away and search for the missing piece elsewhere if 3x$6M can't get it done as a drop dead number.

He wants to be here and it's the perfect situation for him. Pounce on that.

I mean we’ve improved the team for sure but we’re not really cup contenders yet and after money I’m assuming that’s his chief concern.

I’m assuming he’ll get 3x7 and I’d be fine offering that.
