I like Gus and think he has talent but Talbot definitely gives you more confidence going into the season

Giroux would be the biggest UFA signing in Senators history. Hasek was the better player but signed a short term deal at the tail end of his career when many were convinced he was washed up (Ron Howard voiceover: he wasn't.) Gonchar and Kovalev were pretty big names but Giroux is a tier above IMO.

Never been a big believer. Nothing he's done at lower levels made me think he's a #1 in the making.

Having said that, goalies are extremely unpredictable. Will suck if he turns into a legit #1.

Always sucks losing a young goalie before they reach their peak, but I understand the move.

Talbot solidifies our tandem and provides insurance incase Forsberg turns out to be a flash in the pan, and we've still got Sogaard down in the minors. Hurts, but I get the logic.

Takes risk out of the Forsberg/Gus Tandem. 1 year is all Talbot has but I can see why they want to shore it up.

Not bad and definitely saving a good chunk of change when you compare to Gus + Murray.

With Forsberg already signed for 3 years, I think we'll probably wait and see how he performs this year.

He's been pretty good over the last few years that I've watched him playoff. Not sure what happened in the playoffs.
