I don’t understand the Hronek deal at all from Vancouver’s perspective.
See Trevor Linden to understand why the Canucks do what they do.
I don’t understand the Hronek deal at all from Vancouver’s perspective.
Man do I ever feel bad for Canucks fans. Passionate, knowledgeable but are forced to deal with that lunatic owner.Interesting to see teams acquiring 1sts and then turning them right around for players with term [Sandin and Hronek]. This is a new wrinkle to the deadline, and not what you'd expect to see in such a deep draft year.
They must have really wanted a PMD.I don’t understand the Hronek deal at all from Vancouver’s perspective.
You won’t like my answer. Not the right fit for Ottawa or Vancouver but the value isnt bad. Dont get why Vancouver does that though.
A hockey legend calls you up and sweet talks you. Vancouver GM was probably blushing.I don’t understand the Hronek deal at all from Vancouver’s perspective.

Rutherford?...A hockey legend calls you up and sweet talks you. Vancouver GM was probably blushing.
Carolina really failing to match what the other top teams are doing in the East lmao.
Because they are already better than those teams.
Whoever it was. Don’t think it’s Rutherford tho.Rutherford?...
I can see him on his knees to the board every morning. It has to be killing trader Pierre to have to sit out the wildest deadline ever.
He runs that team.Whoever it was. Don’t think it’s Rutherford tho.
I think they’re just softer than you think. Which is why I laugh when everyone is like “can’t beleive Toronto is trading their picks!!” Some team will come in and do them a favor for a face down the road. First for kapanen first for sandin.I think GMs are just dumb bro you're overcomplicating this.
Yeah. I’m sure he’s thinking about the convo he had with yzerman right now lol.He runs that team.
Patrik Allvin probablyWhoever it was. Don’t think it’s Rutherford tho.
Maybe he’ll use the money to overpay for another Copp or Chariot.Yzerman may spin that return and salary out for something better
Words to live byWhen there’s a lot of money involved there’s a lot of under the table crooked dealings involved and there’s a lot of sycophants.
He's better than both, but fit with the rest of the d-corps, contract timeline, etc.. makes it a weird trade. I don't know why Vancouver did this.No idea how Hronek goes for a mid 1st round pick and a 2nd when Ghost just got a 2016 3rd and Barrie was pretty much a throw-in cap dump.
Canucks management are out of their damn minds.
I just don’t see them finishing out the year with all Belleville goalies, I think Talbot stays now. What I would do at this juncture:
- extend Hamonic;
- sell Watson and Holden; call up Sokolov and JBD to replace them
- undecided about Talbot, but leaning toward selling him as well. It all depends on the return.
I still believe we can stay in the race despite the above trades, as they are fairly inconsequential. If a good top 4 RHD with term fall into our laps, then sure I'm not against giving up some picks. I'm not sure Chychrun should it be it though, given the cost, the injury history and the ill fit on the right side.
Honestly, how much could you get for Talbot anyways? A 3rd?I just don’t see them finishing out the year with all Belleville goalies, I think Talbot stays now.
