If I had to guess I would say Klingberg or Barrie are headed to Detroit as a much cheaper Hronek replacement.

Would be great asset management by Stevie Y if it turns out to be the case.

Interesting to see teams acquiring 1sts and then turning them right around for players with term [Sandin and Hronek]. This is a new wrinkle to the deadline, and not what you'd expect to see in such a deep draft year.
Man do I ever feel bad for Canucks fans. Passionate, knowledgeable but are forced to deal with that lunatic owner.

It has to be killing trader Pierre to have to sit out the wildest deadline ever.

I think GMs are just dumb bro you're overcomplicating this.
I think they’re just softer than you think. Which is why I laugh when everyone is like “can’t beleive Toronto is trading their picks!!” Some team will come in and do them a favor for a face down the road. First for kapanen first for sandin.

Yzerman is a legend these guys like to say “I spoke to yzerman today I made a deal with yzerman he said thank you”

He runs that team.
Yeah. I’m sure he’s thinking about the convo he had with yzerman right now lol.

When there’s a lot of money involved there’s a lot of under the table crooked dealings involved and there’s a lot of sycophants.

The Hronek trade is basically a gamble. He HAS had a very good season this year, Canucks management is basically banking on him always playing like this

No idea how Hronek goes for a mid 1st round pick and a 2nd when Ghost just got a 2016 3rd and Barrie was pretty much a throw-in cap dump.

Canucks management are out of their damn minds.
He's better than both, but fit with the rest of the d-corps, contract timeline, etc.. makes it a weird trade. I don't know why Vancouver did this.

What I would do at this juncture:

- extend Hamonic;
- sell Watson and Holden; call up Sokolov and JBD to replace them
- undecided about Talbot, but leaning toward selling him as well. It all depends on the return.

I still believe we can stay in the race despite the above trades, as they are fairly inconsequential. If a good top 4 RHD with term fall into our laps, then sure I'm not against giving up some picks. I'm not sure Chychrun should it be it though, given the cost, the injury history and the ill fit on the right side.
I just don’t see them finishing out the year with all Belleville goalies, I think Talbot stays now.

Idk if I'd have beaten Vancouver's offer for Hronek, but I do think he'd have been a good target for us...

They are going to have nothing to talk about on Friday, poor TSN...

Honestly, how much could you get for Talbot anyways? A 3rd?

I think trading him would be deflating to the room when they think they can make a push for that last wild card spot, even if Sogaard had arguably clearly stolen the starter role.
