I would do a Formenton for Wilson swap straight up. Adding any other assets would just be too risky for a guy who plays heavy with injury history. Formenton obviously has his baggage that the Caps would need to be comfortable with, but Washington would be getting a younger, cheaper player who could eventually play a Wilson-style role. We're already running low on draft picks and decent prospects, so if we had to add more I would be very hesitant.
Washington hangs up and never calls back.

Seravalli says Sens in on Dubois.
Sorry I dont mean to shoot the messemger but hopefully not. He is a Wendy Winer. Apparently a big part of the troubles in the team in Winnipeg. Didn't want to play in Columbus. Doesn't want to play in Winnipeg. Seems like it's Montreal or bust for this guy.

Formenton for Wilson & DeBrincat for Dubois & then move Joseph & Brannstrom for a goalie would be a hell of a summer. That would easily make our team so much better, just not sure how they could afford it though unless they also moved a guy like Zub.

I wonder what they want, do they see him as damaged goods cap dump due to his surgery/injury concerns, or do they see him as a 50 pts power forward on an expiring contract.

I remember hearing Washington wanted to get younger and I believe faster this off-season. I also heard they wanted Wilson to retire a Capital hahaha.

I’m thinking Joseph, a prospect like Donovan and the rights to Formenton.

I hope it’a not a flip the pick from Detroit situation…

Maybe as part of a 3 team deal ?

Or maybe we’re going to flip DeBrincat for the 9th pick and send that pick to Winnipeg with Jarventie and a 1st in 2024.

I don't care if he's a power forward on the wrong side of 30, I'd go pick up Wilson in Washington if Dorion could get him for Formenton and Joseph. Assuming DeBrincat is out for futures you still have enough $ to chase a UFA LW for the top-nine and one or two bottom of the lineup vets.

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Giroux
UFA - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Wilson
Some combo of Kastelic/Kelly/Smejkal/Perry/Lucic/ect

Our size queen management group couldn't care less about the numerous red flags involved in giving a big long-term contract to Wilson or Dubois.

I fully expect Anderson and Jeannot to be the fall back options. They just can't help themselves.

The size queen management group that traded for Brannstrom and Debrincat. Don’t let facts ruin the narrative.

Anderson was moved yesterday or Saturday.

Sure, why not. If Formenton's not gonna play here, then might as well do something with him.

Anderson was moved yesterday or Saturday.
Josh Anderson? Don't think so.

With rumours that Formenton is going to be traded I wonder if he would be part of a deal for Wilson.

Greig - Pinto - Wilson

Sounds just as nice.
probably will at some point . I think Formenton can outplay Greig now and probably most of this season.

I think 17 and a player like Rasmussen or Berggren is a very respectable return given the circumstances.
17+ Rasmussen would be a strong return, Berggren less so but still not awful

I haven't heard any talk of it but I'd hope Dorion does his due diligence on Copp if we're sending Debrincat their way

Ya I hope they do their due diligence on Copp, and pass, he’s overpaid with 4 years left. Even Detroit fans thinks he’s a third liner. 5.625 AAV

I'm down to get PLD just to see the Scabs fans meltdown. Increase their ridiculous insecurity towards Ottawa.

Wilson could be a great temporary add, I'd love to add a player like that. Not sure I'd want to sign him to an extension though.

He's about $1m overpaid but won't be a year from now. His cap hit would never be a problem for us.

I'd only add him if we moved Joseph elsewhere but he's a very good middle-6 option. Good ES scorer, can play any position, good match-up player... I'd much rather Andrew Copp than Dubois, Wilson, Bunting, Domi, and most of the other names being discussed (when considering contract).

Doubt he waives for us but he's a guy I would love to have on my team.

Joseph and Brannstrom for a goalie? Better shore up that defence, lol.
