Always a good time to bring in the broken down/soon to be broken down power forwards at 30
Reminiscent of Lucic going to Cgy,

Tbh, if the price is right I'd be ok with it. One year left, if we can extend him at a salary that makes sense for a guy that will ease into a 3rd line role as he ages, I'd do it.

If nothing else, he can be the enforcer for us.

I wonder what Washington is asking for, that really changes the dynamic. If they view him as a damaged goods, cap dump it could be interesting.

I'd love Wilson if the price is right. Talk about a pain in the ass to play against, but....how often does he play without getting on the IR.

f***, I don't want to re-sign him at age 31. What kind of term would he be looking for. Over 4 years and no thank you.

Josh Andersen returned Domi + 3rd and was given a 5.5M x 7YR contract after a 4P/25GP season.

Tanner Jeannot returned an entire draft's worth of picks after putting up 14P/56GP for the Preds.

GMs do incredibly stupid things to add toughness. Wilson would cost a lot of assets to acquire and the contract he's going to demand is going to be ridiculous.

Lucic-type albatross contract waiting to happen.

Per Micah Blake McCurdy, Wilson's numbers are pretty ass. It'd have to be something like 50% retained for Mr. Considerations.

His ego is probably super inflated to.

"Everyone wants a Tom Wilson"

Guy will be looking for something stupid.
This is the exact scenario that could f*** us going forward. Fear! :scared:

Well, he was hurt more than half the year. His numbers were decent. And he brings something only Chucky can bring on our team - imposing, freight train hitting, monstrosity.

Pierre Dorion is honering the late Bryan Murray and finally acquiring his version of Dustin Penner.

I would do a Formenton for Wilson swap straight up. Adding any other assets would just be too risky for a guy who plays heavy with injury history. Formenton obviously has his baggage that the Caps would need to be comfortable with, but Washington would be getting a younger, cheaper player who could eventually play a Wilson-style role. We're already running low on draft picks and decent prospects, so if we had to add more I would be very hesitant.

Is York really plugged in like that? Anywho, the prospects of having Brady on the top line and Wilson on the second line would scare the shit out of every D we go against

Wilson would be great at RW, but it would depend on what they want in return. He's 29 yrs old & is still pretty fast & probably has 5 more decent yrs left & would take the heaveyweight fighting from Tkachuk. He was hurt most of last yr (only played 33 games) & had a 52 pt season the yr before, so he can also add some offence. If the choice is between Wilson & Mantha I would take Wilson every time, he has a much better motor & drive than Mantha. Still need a goalie though & that should be priority #1.
