I might get shot for this but;

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Zuccarello-Stastny-Stewart

Sounds like a pretty good, multi-dimensional top 6. Lots of size on the wings. Finishers.

I dunno, I'm starting to hate the idea of signing Stastny less.

It does not seem that Blues fans are to happy about Stewart. Words like lazy and inconsistent get thrown around. I have a lot of faith in Rangers scouting but those are not words I like associated with any player.

Especially a guy coming back to us for Cally.

He's a scoring power forward. They have players like Backes and Oshie and are spoiled. He just isn't that type of all-around player.

You need to get over it. Cally is leaving. It's just a matter of what return they get for him.

We all love what cally did for the rangers. But if they aren't prepared to offer him a huge 7 year deal then it doesn't matter. There is no way cally is here next season.

You're not grasping his significance or value to this team.

I think Stewart and MZA would work well together.

Facing facts that there's almost no chance he's coming back, is not failing to grasp his value to the team.

Exactly. You can't lose the player for nothing. Stewart would come in and add another offensive dimension to this team. They get bigger and a bit tougher. Not sure the physicality is there.

I'm not disillusioned that he's maybe leaving.

That's never been the argument and I don't know why that has started.

I've been firm on my sentiment that we should keep one of Callahan/Girardi and trade the other. Who it is doesn't make much difference in my eyes.

I don't have a particular affinity for Callahan. But his worth to this team is a lot ****ing more than Chris Stewart.

And, we can also probably get Stewart for draft picks or prospects or a combination of both without even having to dangle Callahan.

So in my opinion I think any such trade would be Pejorative Slured and probably is viewed the same way as Sather.

RB, I believe it was you who showed the quote from AV saying the difference between the East and West was that the West was much bigger and just as fast as the East.

To me, that screams, "we need to get bigger". Not necessarily calling for 4th line goons, just more size and speed.

Again. It doesn't matter at all what Callahans worth to the rangers is.

That only matters with his contract. Which the rangers already seemed to indicate they won't give.

All that matters now is Callahans value to other teams. And if that is something like stewart + schmaltz. Then that's what the rangers will do

Callahan for Stewart + 1st

Callahan for Stewart + Good prospect

Both are more than acceptable value for a player who, at this juncture, appears he will be testing free agency.

I don't like Stewart, but he is a a low cost asset and has another year. That's already better than nothing where Callahan leaves a hole in the roster. Stewart also gives the kids competition next year to EARN their roster spot. He could also then be flipped next year at the deadline should the Rangers feel that is the best move.

Now add in a pick or a prospect, and you are looking at a solid deal for a guy who is leaving for nothing.

Would not be mad at either of those returns.

Stewart has a higher even-strength scoring rate than Callahan since 2011-12. Even-strength accounts for most of Callahan's contributions to this current Ranger team.

I would prefer someone controllable for longer, but I would consider him if St. Louis sweetens it a bit. Edmonton's 2nd? Eat half of Stewart's contract (they do have the space)?

I like those lines quite a bit.
For the bottom 6:
Hags-Miller/Brassard-Fast/Kristo
Carcillo/Dorsett-Boyle/Moore-FA

I'd like us to pick up another 1st either in the Callahan trade, a Brassard trade, or some other move. By doing so, we could package both our picks to hopefully move up to get a top 5 or 10 draft pick that we rarely have the chance to get.

On D, I'd like us to re-sign Moore, Stralman and Girardi. Give Conor Allen a chance as the 7th D-man. So our D would remain the same next season, allowing guys like McIlrath and Skjei to develop more. If they do, maybe around next year's trading deadline we move Staal for a nice return.
