Clowe at right price = YES!
Clowe at overpayment = NO!

I think that's pretty much the sentiment, let's work off of that

Here's the problem. The nature of the trading deadline is that there are a lot of teams looking to add and only a few players available. Thus, prices are high.

If people don't want to overpay then cool, but don't then ***** and whine if the Rangers don't do anything.

Ok well if prices are high and they don't come down, you don't do anything. It doesn't have anything to do with not wanting Clowe on the team. It's not a "We don't want him" it's "We dont want to overpay for him while we're struggling to maintain position in the 8th seed"

Re Iginla, No deal tonight, according to McKenzie...no hard news...deal not done...possibly a three-team deal with J-Bo also moving. Detroit interested in J-Bo.

Sharks my 3rd favorite team after Rangers of course and 2ed is the Blackhawks since the JR Amonte days...i dont get it either.. some fans hate Clowe so much but rather keep Brian Boyle.. are you kidding me :shakehead:help:

Complete difference in trading Boyle for Clowe, than trading the requested asking price.

Again, YOU may personally feel that way, but I can GUARANTEE you there will be more than a few people who ***** and moan about Sather not doing anything to try to improve the team. It's a lose-lose. The fanbase doesn't want to pay market price, but a lot of the fanbase also doesn't want status quo. Barring Sather/Gorton working something magical, we're not going to have it both ways.

Who cares what those irrational people think? Whatever happens happens.

Just speculation on McKenzie's part...but according to him, something is holding the deal up

I think what's holding the deal is up that Feaster can't go back to his fanbase and tell him Alexander Khoklachev was the key piece they got for the greatest player in franchise history

I don't get what people were expecting. Dougie Hamilton?

I wasn't expecting that no, but I was saying from the beginning that trading Iginla is a lose-lose situation for the Flames. Honestly, unless he requested a trade (which let's be honest, he'd never do), they should have just kept him.

Messier scored 12 goals in 1990-91 in 53 games. Guess he can't score either. 25 games is a pretty rough sample size to judge a player's career from. And, it's not like he has zero points, he's got 10 including tonight. That whole team has been in a slump.

He would improve our 3rd line. That's what we should be trying to buy him as.. not the to 6 asking price sharks want. But regardless he won't help our scoring problems
