Jaskin is a skilled sniper buried in the Blues organization. These are the type of offensive players Rangers should target.

Admittedly I know nothing about Dmitrij Jaskin. Scouting report?

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/dmitri_jaskin/

Jaskin is a big, strong boy and when he's on, defenders have a difficult time stopping him and he's nearly impossible to bump off the puck. He also has a mean streak, never backing down when challenged, which can sometimes get him into penalty trouble. Some scouts have also questioned whether he is always motivated to play, as he tends to be a streaky player.

So the Sens scratching Cowen and Weircoch

Cowen has not been the same since his surgery.

Weircioch is a worse version of Del Zotto.

Would not touch either. And for the record would not touch Greening, Condra or Gryba either.

Hemsky is flying tonight vs Predators. I know he is injury prone but if he could stay healthy he would be good for this team.

Hemsky (@3mil)

Petry is a good young RHD might have to overpay to get.

Awful. For the Rangers.

We don't need band aids. We need people who will be in the long term plans.

Hemsky doesn't fit that mold.

People here just want to see a trade. Doesn't matter if it's Del Zotto for a puck bag and a 6th.

I agree with this but young assets cost more than "band-aids". It all depends on how close to winning Sather thinks we are.

While I agree with your sentiment here, I think Del Zotto should be moved sooner, rather than later. I'm sure he's a good kid and all, but a thing like this is just like a black cloud on the team. He is most definitely an NHL defense man who has payed his dues(albeit a bit inconsistently). But he probably didn't get quite a fair shake on this one. The team all seems pretty close and a lot of those guys have played together for a while. I'd hate for this to be any kind of distraction.

Their division is pretty close(BAD) that if the Rangers go on a particularly bad run, they'll be playing catch up.

So, I'm not confident he could make a legitimate impact in this system until he improves his skating and decision making. Move on. Maximize the return and trade him.

I doubt the Rangers will play any better or worse because they're distracted by MDZ's healthy scratches. That said, as long as AV doesn't play him on the left he's just unsold inventory.

Sather always thinks they are one move away from the Cup. Forever.

how many times has sather traded away quality young talent since 2004? if anything the opposite is true and he has sat on his ass doing nothing instead of trying to make a move to put us over the top

Rick Nash? Trading Gaborik?

On the contrary when has Sather looked at the reality of the situation and said, "Let's be sellers this year rather than continuing to build teams destined for 9th place or a 1st/2nd round exit."

Anything can happen! We're still in it!

Since when was Gaborik a young player? Also, it's not like the Rangers traded any core player for Nash. I don't think Mr. Brandon "I score once in a millennium" Dubinsky qualifies.

Not a young player, but definitely a move to "put the team over the top." Three roster players came back.

You can argue about what Dubinsky is or isn't all day, but Arty, Dubi and Erixon were all young talents to some degree that needed replacing which was evident by the Gaborik trade.

Not to mention that lovely first round pick. Sather trades picks for rentals every year.

so trading gaborik for 3 young players is now considered a screw the future 'let's go for the cup' move??

and don't get me wrong i think sather sucks and should have been fired years ago lol
