I wonder if Ottawa would be interested in Zuccarello. I know he has played well for the Rangers but the Sens lack skill players in their bottom-6 and even their top-6 outside of Ryan, Spezza and Michalek. They attempted to add some skill with Conacher, he has been okay. They have size with Greening, Smith, Neil, Ryan, Michalek all being big strong players. Spezza is also well over 6'.

They said it has to be money in, money out with them.

Zibanejad + Greening for Del Zotto + Zuccarello

This year they accept some salary, moving forward they have (2) RFA's and Greening moving up to 2.65 million/season who is struggling this season.

Zuccarello gives them another skilled winger to compliment their bigger forwards and who can be a long term piece. Same with MDZ.

Greening is skating on 4th line with Grant and Condra. Conacher is skating with Smith and Neil. #Sens

Greening on the 4th line in Ottawa. Will that constitute money-in/money-out?

He would be another big body who likes to play physical.

They would need to add. Rundblad has yet to earn a full time NHL slot. Only 1 year younger.

how about this???

Rangers trade Del Zotto, Michael St.Croix, Pouliot 2ed in 2014 to Coyotes
Yotes trade Samuelsson, Lucas Lessio and Rundblad and 4th in 2014

I understand that Zibanejad has excellent potential I just don't get taking away Zuc when we need wingers, unless it's some established star maybe.

for some reason i have visions of another Taylor Pyatt. 22 games 3 assist.. do not want unless dealt for cheap like Asham and Powe

He moves much better and is more physical than Pyatt

The idea would be to have Kreider, Nash, Callahan and Hagelin as the top-6 wingers. Zib as a 3rd line winger with Brassard. They would be fine.

Doesn't make sense to me either. MZA is providing offense, you are trading him away for two guys who might make up what he brings and then add on top of that since the goal is to get more scoring.

No thanks.

I know he looks good and people are rooting for him, but 10 points in 21 games? Not exactly setting the world on fire. The Rangers have a chance to get in on the ground level on a player who has 30/30 potential with blazing speed and a good overall game.

I like Zibanejad and definitly hope they are targeting him, but not at the expense of DZ and one of our best roster players at the moment. You know damn well that stat line doesn't tell the whole story. Kreider and Zucc have been the best forwards this year with Richards cooling down and Nash injured.

Either way DZ should be the only roster player involved unless for some stupid reason someone wanted Poo or Pyatt.

Fair enough, trying to think outside the box

It's amazing some of the things you find posted on the internet. Came across this gem of a proposal this morning on some Rangers FB group...

MDZ+Brassard+McIlrath+2nd+4th
for
Eberle + 3rd

To which someone responded that you would have to replace Brass and McI with Miller and Hagelin, then add Girardi to it and possibly be able to get Schultz as well...

Come on man, stop picking on Bernmeister on Facebook too. He gets enough crap here. :sarcasm:

Rangers fb group definitely has its "gems". Makes HF look like a TSN panel haha.

Greening seems like a good buy low candidate. Before this year, he seemed like a solid 35+ point, 12+ goal energy player. At best, he's a damn good 3rd line center. At worst, he's a capable fourth line winger. At a .816 cap hit this year and 2.65 for the next three, it's a pretty good deal if he returns to that previous standard. 0 goals and only 3 points so far this year for him, though.

at this stage in the NCAA season, are there any FA's at the end of the year that we should be signing? any rumors of players we are heavily scouting?
