for the most part I agree about Michalek, but the insurance we did not get in the Clowe deal would be had here with Gryba and more importantly Lazar.

Michalek helps this year, Lazar helps for the next 10-15

I don't think it would be Lazar, I think it would be Puempel.

Another reason I don't touch Michalek is he is a FA. The Rangers would need to get a player under team control in my opinion. Conacher is cheap, signed past this year, has top 6 ability when he is hot and doesn't kill you when he isn't. That is the guy I would target.

I've been begging for offense for this team since camp. I said way back, where will the goals come from ?? We have no finishers on this team.

It's time to face the music. We don't have the horses to play AV's system. We lack size speed and shooters. We've got small speed and slow size and mostly a team full of lobster claws. Our shooting/scoring numbers are brutal.

Del zotto and one of mcilrath, Kristo, miller or fast needs to be packaged with a 2nd for someone who can shoot it and a skating dman.

We're starving for a shooter.

Makes sense there are multiple teams interested. I think a deal happens soon. Need an upgrade in the top 9 with size.

Schenn? Zibanejad? Coyle? Niederiter?

I think it gets done soon. There are teams in the same boat as the Rangers.

Why Schenn? Isnt he a center?

The team is finally prioritizing shooting but the problem is they don't have enough players to put the puck in the net on a consistent basis. They need to find a shoot first player at the expense of one of their forecheckers.

Team need to evolve.

DZ + Kristo should net us a legit top 6 player.

We either need a pure finisher or someone who knows how to score scrappy goals. We have neither. Simmonds comes to mind. We park players in from of the net and none of them know how to do the simplest thing... tap the puck in.

Zibanedjad would be amazing. I'd cry. Someone who could grow with our core rather than just a mercenary.

It's not a lack of talent that's getting to us, it's lack of balance.

We need 1 more player to round out the top 9. Boyle can't be on it. Neither can Pyatt. Pouloit is as good as useless. Boyle kills 3rd line momentum, Pouloit kills 4th line momentum. They don't fit the style of the line.

3rd line with Brassard and Hagelin isn't a checking line. It's another scoring line. Tagging Boyle along just throws off all the continuity. He can't create offensively.

4th line with Moore and Dorsett is supposed to be a checking and physical line. Then lethargic and passive Pouloit completely kills everything. He can't sustain any type of forechecking pressure.

Trade for Zibby (for example).

Hagelin-Richards-Nash
Kreider-Stepan-Zuccarello
Hagelin-Brassard-Zibanedjad
Boyle-Moore-Dorsett

Balance. It'll work wonders. Boston lacks pure finishers too. They have balance. That's what will push this team over the edge. Not some superstar stud who will cost us our farm.

Why would Kristo get us a top 6 forward? Just curious. What has he done?

You need to give up some good assets to get good ones back.

We need more offensive talent. It is just the reality of the situation.

If you can't draft and develop it you need to trade for someone who isn't on the wrong side of 30 and is going to just come here and suck.

Either play MDZ or trade him. If we can get a good return, I prefer the latter.

Hagelin is going to have a busy day at the office.

This team needs a lot more than just 1 trade to fix it.
1 trade isn't fixing this mess.

It should. We absolutely owned the Stanley Cup runner up who will likely be first in the Atlantic after tonight. Their goalie stood on his head but besides that we owned them in all areas of the ice.

2 mental lapses that can be easily corrected.

Defense is actually sound. Offense is generating crazy chances. Law of the norms, sooner or later things will balance out. We've been in the negative for nearly the entire first quarter of the season. It will turn around. We have the talent, everything is getting more natural.

Need balance on the lines. 1 trade should do that.

Ok over-reactionary fan after a loss, you've completely convinced me that trading Del Zotto for a top six wing that can score goals and shift some of the players down a line to lines they should be on and/or out of the lineup will not help.

The Rangers speed is fine. They have decent size. And they are creating chances. However, they have no shooters.

Moulson or Simmonds would fix our problem too. The solution isn't just limited to a pure sniper. Just need balance.

We owned them so much we lost.

Too bad they don't hand out 2 points for that.

Team is mediocre. There is no denying that. They have A LOT of problems. No quick fixes out there.

What is this witchcraft?

Balance? Pssh.

I think Moulson and Simmonds are both over rated but those are two player types that would certainly help this team.

Whats that gonna do? Make us Stanley cup contenders? Who is this top 6 forward?

I've been saying this team is mediocre since the beginning of the season. My stance hasn't changed.

Said it before, but Schenn for Del Zotto makes a lot of sense.

I'm with you. Our change of scenery guy for their change of scenery guy. Not sold on Brassard as the 2nd line center going forward. Schenn plays C and LW.

When's the last time Philly and NYR traded though? Lindros? It was before Holmgren became GM for sure.

If I knew who the forward was I would probably have a job as an insider or psychic.

Did I say it would make us a Stanley Cup contender, or did I say it would help to solve some problems?

I am happy for you that you haven't changed your stance, I could say my stance is orange and just keep repeating it for an entire season. Why don't you actually do some assessment instead of just repeating how mediocre this mediocre team of mediocrity is?
