And now for something completely different....

What about...
Girardi, Del Zotto, Ranger 2nd 2014, Ranger 2nd 2015
to TML for
Gardiner, TML 1st 2014, TML 1st 2015

4 assets for 3;
2 first round value + two 2nds for 3 first rounders (value)

----------------- then

We do the two Toronto 1sts, add our NYR 2014 1st, and a guy like Tommy Hughes, a big RD with some potential, but very raw. to Buffalo for Ristolainen (now) + Bufs 2014 2nd.

Sure Risto is a building block, but they also need more total blue chips and getting 3 firsts for 8th or whatever overall + throw in is possibly worth it for rebuilding Sabes club.

Sure, Risto is a rookie learning the ropes but he's the real deal, McIlrath but a better skater.

We cut a separate deal for J. Schultz, maybe.
An inexpensive add for Postma, maybe ...
or...........

go whole hog and do Stepan + Callahan + Ryan Graves + Calle Andersson + Buf 2nd 2014 + x for Seth Jones + Preds 2014 1st
Step + Cally each worth minimum 1.5 first each, + two nice prospect Ds, matching L-R pair, + high 2nd. Not too shabby. If they make him available at all.

Depending exactly on what's moved,

McD - Jones
Staal - Risto
Gardiner - Stalman /J Schultz
Moore flipping back n forth
Skjei - McIlrath

on offense
Richards - Brassard - Nash
Kreider - Miller - Zuc / Kristo
Hagelin - Lindberg - Fast
Hrivik - Moore - Dorsett

Boyle, if not traded, in mix.
Pyatt gone.

something like this.

til tomorrow...

Edmonton needs defenseman (not getting rid of defenseman) not Bryz. Might be the worst run franchise in the NHL given the other perennial losers have to worry more about cap space. If Nick Shultz is your highest paid D...

I wouldn't be trading away the 2014 1st with that forward core.

Bornmoostor...

When do trades like this ever happen? Girardi for Gardiner, done. Why does every proposal have to be NHL14 on adderall? :)

Brassard who can't even handle the 2nd line center position is now our top center? pls

Gardiner is better than Girardi?
I can't tell from your post if you agree with that trade idea or you are laughing at it.

They can add to make it work, but not multiple 1st rounders or other crazy ****. Girardi is a UFA.

Gardiner might yet become a really good defenceman, but I am not sold on him yet. He does have talent, I agree. Granted, I don't watch him anywhere close to how much I watch the Rangers. I like Girardi's game and if he did get traded, I would not want a defenceman of Gardiner's calibre back, I would be wanting the trade to be for a solid top six forward. Richards will not be here next season, in all likelihood.

My point was that it's a trade that could actually happen in reality.

Here's whats gonna happen. Edmonton signs Bryz, thinking this is the way to save their season. He ***** the bed, the Oilers struggle and all of the sudden it's top 5 pick again.

Only player I want from Toronto is JVR and that's not gunna happen. They could use Girardi but most teams can, leafs aren't a good trading partner

Is there any way we can have a thread that delves into the thought process of Bern? I'm legitimately befuddled after every single post you make. It's one thing to want the trade the farm for all the young talent in the league in a video game and simulate forward a few years and have a sick roster. That's fun to do, in a video game. But honestly, I don't understand how anyone can legitimately think this is the right thing to do in real life. I really have to know what is going on in your head and what is behind these posts. They're all so long and thought out, it is seriously insane. I need to know what makes you tick.

What do you guys think about cammalari if we are a lock for playoffs by the deadline? He's on fire this year in my opinion. He's looking to be traded/playing for a new contract

Exactly. Sure they want improve, but not by making sound trades of talent for talent in an effort to construct a balanced lineup. Theyll trade the dregs of their lineup for your top players....

This is all posturing by Lowe and McT. They will continue to ice a team of developing young players, securing their payoff in the draft until eventually they get the next Crosby and it all works...

Brooks wrote the Rangers aren't trading 3 players for 1 and they're not trading kids for rentals or veteran players. He wrote DZ can be had. Brooks wrote the Rangers will need a D to replace DZ in case of an injury to top guys and replace the DZ minutes. That's a lateral move. The Rangers should keep DZ for the rest of this season if those are the concerns. Trade him in the summer. http://nypost.com/2013/11/08/rangers-del-zotto-could-be-benched/
