1st + Biggs or something along those lines
This is preferable, but the key is the 1st.
We can chat about what +s each of us may add.
But your 1st for DG is core.

Been a long time, a bit rusty perhaps? And now for something completely different....
til tomorrow...
I'll be relieved if this Hemsky trade goes through/turns out to be real, provided the Rangers aren't involved.

What about...
Girardi, Del Zotto, Ranger 2nd 2014, Ranger 2nd 2015
to TML for
Gardiner, TML 1st 2014, TML 1st 2015
4 assets for 3;
2 first round value + two 2nds for 3 first rounders (value)
----------------- then
We do the two Toronto 1sts, add our NYR 2014 1st, and a guy like Tommy Hughes, a big RD with some potential, but very raw. to Buffalo for Ristolainen (now) + Bufs 2014 2nd.
Sure Risto is a building block, but they also need more total blue chips and getting 3 firsts for 8th or whatever overall + throw in is possibly worth it for rebuilding Sabes club.
Sure, Risto is a rookie learning the ropes but he's the real deal, McIlrath but a better skater.
We cut a separate deal for J. Schultz, maybe.
An inexpensive add for Postma, maybe ...
or...........
go whole hog and do Stepan + Callahan + Ryan Graves + Calle Andersson + Buf 2nd 2014 + x for Seth Jones + Preds 2014 1st
Step + Cally each worth minimum 1.5 first each, + two nice prospect Ds, matching L-R pair, + high 2nd. Not too shabby. If they make him available at all.
Depending exactly on what's moved,
McD - Jones
Staal - Risto
Gardiner - Stalman /J Schultz
Moore flipping back n forth
Skjei - McIlrath
on offense
Richards - Brassard - Nash
Kreider - Miller - Zuc / Kristo
Hagelin - Lindberg - Fast
Hrivik - Moore - Dorsett
Boyle, if not traded, in mix.
Pyatt gone.
something like this.

When do trades like this ever happen? Girardi for Gardiner, done. Why does every proposal have to be NHL14 on adderall?
Brassard who can't even handle the 2nd line center position is now our top center? pls
Gardiner is better than Girardi?
I can't tell from your post if you agree with that trade idea or you are laughing at it.
why not just trade our entire roster for some other team?
They can add to make it work, but not multiple 1st rounders or other crazy ****. Girardi is a UFA.
Gardiner might yet become a really good defenceman, but I am not sold on him yet. He does have talent, I agree. Granted, I don't watch him anywhere close to how much I watch the Rangers. I like Girardi's game and if he did get traded, I would not want a defenceman of Gardiner's calibre back, I would be wanting the trade to be for a solid top six forward. Richards will not be here next season, in all likelihood.
My point was that it's a trade that could actually happen in reality.
Here's whats gonna happen. Edmonton signs Bryz, thinking this is the way to save their season. He ***** the bed, the Oilers struggle and all of the sudden it's top 5 pick again.
And now for something completely different.....
Agreed. Hemsky isn't the kind of addition we need. He's a shell of his former self.
