So the Oilers are bidding against themselves for Bryzgalov. How much are they planning on paying that clown?

Personally, I refuse to believe that Bryz is really that bad until I see him in an environment besides post-24/7 Philadelphia.

It's not even really about how bad he'll be, if they are actually trying to salvage the season you don't trade one of your best defensive dmen and then sign an average goaltender when you have several of them already.

I mean honestly if they were going to tank, they didn't need Bryz to do it. So how does trading away a position of weakness and not upgrading another position of weakness to a degree that may make up for the further loss at D?

I'm saying that I don't even believe that Bryz is just an average goalie.

Bryzgalov is represented by Ritch Winter.

I just wanted you to hear that from me first.

Are there other players within the Edmonton organization you can link Ritch to, maybe to someone close to the situation? I mean I feel this isn't really relevant without having that 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon effect.

Okay, well what I am asking then is, will even a Vezina caliber goaltender cover their loss at D and also save the season?

We will see. Depends on how much confidence the team will have in front of him. My sense of the scouting from the Oilers fans isn't even that the defensemen are the problem out there.

As they seem dumb enough in Philadelphia to consider trading Giroux, what would you give up for him?

I guess the base of the offer would have to be something like Girardi, Brassard, 1st, + (let's say Miller) based on the Nash trade.

Then send a pick/a few picks to Florida for Gilbert.

Hagelin-Giroux-Nash
Kreider-Stepan-Zuccarello
Pouliot-Richards-Callahan
Moore-Boyle-Dorsett

McDonagh-Strålman
Staal-Gilbert
Moore-Del Zotto

I believe he represents Oscar Klefbom. He ripped Tom Renney when he was head coach for not playing 18 year old d-men like he did 18 year old forwards. Oilers drafted Hall and Nugent-Hopkins first overall. He tried to incorporate this video into his attack, but it was unclear how it fit:

The Oilers have had two coaches since then. Klefbom still has played 0 NHL games. Zero. Ritch Winter.

I would definitely make that Girardi/Brassard/1st/Miller trade for Giroux but Philly isn't trading to us and I doubt that's enough anyway.

Wow. Klefbom. Zero games? The Oilers.

Enigmatic?

Miller should be in the AHL playing on the top line and top minutes at center.

While I would be willing to move some of our guys if we got the right return (like Stepan + for Seth Jones +), and give Miller NHL rather than AHL minutes, I cannot emphasize more how much I am in total agreement with you about Miller at C, which I have been calling for quite some time.

Miller is our only C with enough juice to really superspeed Kreider. Add the right RW (Cally, maybe Fast, maybe, maybe add Hags + flip either him or CK) and that is not just regular killer speed. That is lights out, blur. That is we dominate speed.
