Afternoon, good sir. A report in the Edmonton Journal is saying that the Jackets are trying to move Nikitin. What could they get for him? What is the likelihood of seeing any package deals or other trades? If this team is even relatively healthy after Horton, Calvert, and Jenner are back, they will have 14 forwards, that's not including Chaput and Collins. If a trade does happen, which forwards would be most likely to go?
Portzline:
Very hard to say, and I'm not going to guess. The Oilers are looking for defense; the Blue Jackets -- with Erixon and Goloubef in the minors, and either Nikitin and Prout a healthy scratch -- only make sense as a trade partner. But the Oilers and the Blue Jackets are struggling right now, so perhaps they'd like to mix things up with a trade. And, you know, Scott Howson has traded for Nikita Nikitin in a previous life.
