Deal was done richter was allowed to play blew out his knee deal was killed

Well that's what imminent means - about to happen. Imminent would suggest the deal is nearly complete. Nearly complete would suggest all the major parts are agreed upon. All the major parts would include Del Zotto. And the inclusion of Del Zotto would mean that the Edmonton GM wouldn't allow the Ranger to play him in tonights game just so they have a better chance of winning 1 game in a season of 82.

No, you see, thats where you wrong. COMPLETE would mean all the major parts are agreed upon. Nearly complete and imminent means jack-squat. It means it can fall through at any second.

GM's have conversations and get close to deals every single day. If your whacky theory was right, players would be in and out of the lineup because of trade rumors all the time.

Then those trades are not imminent. Use the word correctly. Imminent is the closest there is to a deal before it is completed. "Close to" does not equate to imminent. Imminent implies whatever is going to happen will happen with certainty but it not completed at the moment. That is why you don't see news outlets reporting "imminent trades" as often any more. The definition itself is as close to finished as possible. It doesn't mean discussion stages. It doesn't mean close but not there yet. It means about to happen.
 
I think some of you guys are taking the "Trade Rumors/Speculation" title way too seriously

The amount of crap the moderators have had to delete lately from the board in general and this thread specifically is ridiculous. There won't be any additional mere deletions--post crap and you'll earn infractions.
 
If the deal is MDZ+ for Yakupov, you do it depending on the +. Miller, yes. 2nd rounder, in a heartbeat. McIlrath, sure. Kreider, not a chance

Also a couple of posts about imminent trades and MDZ playing, remember the Prust/Jokinen trade? Everything was agreed upon but they held off on the trade so Calgary wasn't short players that night

Im not really sure why Miller is expendable and Kreider is untouchable. Seems extreme to me.

I remember that happening everyone was shocked didn't see it coming. I think it could happen the next few days and I agree with what you said about DZ miller 2nd etc. kreider needs to be off limits to make us better long term. We need to improve the right side of our D and having DZ there doesn't improve it so if we can get a RD for cheap or Mcilrath is ready a deal of del zotto miller 2nd would be perfect.
