Fact: all Russians are punks. Why should it be different for Yokipav?

Like I said, this has nothing to do with nationality.

But all pro hockey players that issue a quote basically stating that they refuse to do the things that his coach is asking of him are punks -- thats especially true for younger players that have proven nothing at this level.

From what the oilers fans were implying was that yakupov is worth more than del zotto and miller & closer to mcdonagh. He led their team in goals last season as a rookie, but like most fans we all get alittle delusional about the value of our own players. I'd love him on this team but at the price of kreider that's a lateral move for us even if yak does end up as a better player because you need a player like kreider and yakupov in your top 6 to really compete in this league. Nash 35 goals yak 30 goals kreider 30 goals. That's all a possibility with the 3 of them in the line up

I think its quite clear that a 20 year old #1 overall pick has more value than Del Zotto and Miller, attitude issues or not.

For what it's worth (and I know it isn't much) a source I know close to a current Rangers player has said that he's 95% sure Del Zotto will be traded within the week, and likely today. Don't know any other details but I'm keeping my eyes open all day for something because I'm fully expecting a move.

Bro, are you even vetted?

Yakupov hasn't established himself as a consistent dynamic and offensive force to ignore other aspects of the game. Not when you're on pace for 17 points and -74 rating.

Kreider has 10 career NHL goals so penciling him in for 30 doesn't sit right with me.

Yukepahv scored at a 29 goal pace last year though.

If this happens would it happen before the Rangers game tonight?? because if it happens after watch Del Zotto get hurt

You mean radupov? I just don't wanna move kreider. Girardi or del zotto hrivik miller 2nd 3rd a cigar from Sather and some Knicks tickets

Have Bobby Mac or Darren Dreger said anything about the Oilers looking to make a move? I just can't help but think all this talk was just speculation taken way way way too far. You'd think if a Canadian team were thinking of making a franchise altering move McKenzie or Dreger would know about it.

He was only a -4 last year, so he obviously knew how to play defense then. Either that or +/- is a silly stat.

Dreger mentioned EDM looking to make a move on insider trading the other day. No names or anything just said they were one of the more active teams right now add they need help on D and in net.

Keeping in mind that the Rangers have playoffs aspirations--you don't trade a player that is key to those aspirations like your first pairing RD and especially when you have no one to fill his skates and definitely not for a young player who's squabbling with his own coach no matter how talented he is. It may just be that Yakupov has character issues that are going to factor down the road. So no as far as sending Girardi to Edmonton for Yakupov. It will have to be less essential d-man if at all.

I wouldn't send Kreider there either. His play is going up. He's playing like a power forward--lacks the meanness but for such a big player his skating is intimidating.

I think there is little chance that DZ gets traded tonight, if there was a trade in the works wouldn’t he be scratched to avoid him getting hurt, and thus voiding the trade?

Because it started so low...

Edmonton is not trading Yakupov.

He will probably be a healthy scratch again tomorrow night

Eakins says he told Yakupov not to believe any of trade rumours that "he and team joined at the hip"but Yak might sit vs tbay

Yakupov doing skating drills with guys in yellow not playing. We will see if he is out for Omark vs tampa

Yakupov is far from the player the Oilers believe he can be. Focus will be on teaching him to use his teammates and better defensive play.

He doesn't want to be taught.

Good luck sending him to the AHL.

"You can say a million words about getting better but coach says I'm not playing, so I'm not playing. I'm not happy about it. I just want to play every game. I'm going to play my game. I'm not going to change but maybe play better without the puck, or forecheck more, but I love playing with the puck. I really don't like skating all the time, and forechecking, and hitting somebody every shift. I don't think it's my game." -Yakupov Self explanatory
