As long as it's not Hemsky.
imagine if the Rangers Oilers trade is Boyle for Hemsky

As long as it's not Hemsky.
I think this is the most important thing anyone had said in this thread.
Its a point we can all agree on. Who on earth would condone the Ranger acquiring Hemsky?
Tootoo on waivers today. Love his grit, hate his cap hit
Nail is getting dealt today or tomorrow. Book it.
I mean, if he came extremely cheap and EDM ate half his salary, I wouldn't flip out. But that begs the question, why would EDM do that?
As the centerpiece in a deal to bring back Girardi or MDZ? deargodpleasenosaveoursouls
What are you basing this off of?
Would I flip out? No. It'd just be another nothing deal, a shot in the dark. Rucinsky, an old Sykora, Wolski, etc.
I'd prefer the team to stand pat, and fire the GM, but I know neither of those things will happen
Regardless if he ends up a Ranger or not, a Yakupov trade would be really exciting. How often does a #1 overall pick get traded so early in his career? And no, Eric Lindros doesn't count.
How many would trade Kreider for Yakupov straight up?
I would.

Funny, if you asked me 10 days ago, it'd be a no-brainer.
Now, Im reluctant to trade a guy that just now seems to be "getting it" at the NHL level vs. a guy thats clearly got a long way to go.
I think that's a sign it should still be a no-brainer. 10 days isn't enough to change my mind.Funny, if you asked me 10 days ago, it'd be a no-brainer. .

Sather: "Hey Mac, so how much for that kid. Yakulov or whatever?"
MacTavish: "His name is Nail Yakupov and he is a former 1st overall draft pick with tons of potential."
Sather: "Yeah that's what I said, Radulov. But cool, 1st overall he sounds good he must have like 40 points so far this season. Leading your team. With all the points..."
MacTavish: "He has 3 points."
Sather: "THREE POINTS?! Jesus man, let me start packing Lundqvist's bags right now."
MacTavish: "...He's got a high ceiling and great skillset-"
Sather: "I'll give you Michael Del Zotto."
MacTavish: "He's worth way more than that and yo know it."
Sather: "..."
MacTavish: "Glen?"
Sather: "Yeah I'm here Mac, just can't hear you through all the goal horns Yakupov's setting off. I'll throw in a 3rd."
MacTavish: "I can't do tha-"
Sather: "Mac..."
MacTavish: "Fine."
