Frederic and Walman are good adds.

Would still like a goalie but this TDL has been fine.
Frederic can't even skate yet, so let's see if he can actually help come playoff time. On paper it's a nice add, yes.

Walman was an overpay imo and doesn't help fill the gaping hole on the right side of the Oilers defence. If the solution is to play someone on their offside, it's not a very good solution imo. Walman does seem like a decent player though, even if it does only increase the number of players in the Leftorium on the Oilers D.

Goaltending still a giant question mark and the biggest issue going into the playoffs.

This TDL has been underwhelming at best so far. YMMV.

Out of curiosity with anyone who’s knowledgeable about it. What about the Kane situation? Let’s say he’s not good to go before playoffs, do they just LTIR them and have more cap space to use or was that cap space already used on Walman

Cause if we still have extra $$$$, I’d really want a goalie added especially after what Colorado and Dallas acquired today.

I could be wrong, but I think Walman puts them "over the cap", so it would be part of Kane's LTIR. Not sure how much they have left to use

TDL so far has been underwhelming... look at Tampa and Colorado, they both go all in and we stand pat...I can't see us winning against Col/Tampa/Cats... hopefully I am wrong.

While I agree we haven't gone all in, I really don't know how you consider what we've done so far as standing pat, we've definitely been active and made changes that show an intent to actively try and improve the roster. This isn't a Tambellini deadline where we acquire Smithson and pretend like it was a big addition.

While I don't want to see us stop quite yet cause we still need a goalie, what we've done so far is more than we did last season where our big adds were- Henrique, Stecher, and Carrick.

They might as well send Jeff anywhere he wants since he’s in Knoblauch’s dog house no matter what anyways.
I wouldn't be surprised if Knoblauch does an interview and rips off a mask and reveals he was Ralph Krueger all along at this point

Something about Skinner's game that must really rub some defensive coaches the wrong way

Trade deadline history is rife full of teams that loaded up and were unceremoniously punted from the playoffs because they messed too much with team chemistry

At this point we don’t even know what we have in Walman, we paid a huge price for a guy that’s likely on our third pairing.

Frederic isn’t likely ready till playoffs and Jones looked good this game but the expectations are that he won’t be anything more than a 4th line guy

This deadline so far is about the same or slightly better than last years but still not enough to move the needle.

We still don’t have a player to partner with Nurse. We still don’t have a proper winger for Drai. We still don’t have a goalie that isn’t complete ass.

I hope Bowman does something and all the players we acquired pay off but this deadline has been pretty underwhelming so far.

People think a big name add is doing something. We don’t need a big name, we already have those guys.

We had areas of need that both Frederic and Walman help with.

We do still need a goalie but this TDL is far from underwhelming.

Just goes to show some people will never be happpy.

We absolutely can infer from his previous play what we have in Walman. It’s ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

Frederic will play though and provides an element that we need.

This is just being negative for no reason at this point.

Are we done with TDL?

How much cap space we got left?

The Walman trade still not finalized?

We are such a bunch of entitled whiners sometimes…

Walman, by all accounts from Shark fans was their best D all year… is being asked to be our 4th best.

Frederic is exactly like like Foegele except that he hits, fights and is miles better defensively. This particular year he was down in the dumps motivation-wise… and he just got traded to a contender.

And Kane is coming back in the playoffs…

And we have, by my math, up to 2.5M (correction… up to 3.088) in cap if we run a 22-man roster the rest of the way.

Deadline isn’t until 3pm.

Considering the d men we were linked to in rumours (Soucy, Murphy, Dumoulin), I take Walman every single time.

People complaining about him have no clue who he is.

I wonder if Rantanen is set on testing free agency.

By my math…

$300K right now.

$1.088 if we send down Stecher.

$3.088M if we send down both Jones and Kapanen.

So up to ~$3M if we are ok with 13F and 7D on a day to day basis.

Convince Skinner to waive and we have enough to do pretty much anything we like.

I'm making my trade-line traditional breakfast. I'm making a pack of bacon, hashbrowns, six sausages, six eggs, and toast all to myself.
And every year the wife shakes her head and calls me an idiot.
This year I am eating healthier, I added some fruit as a dessert instead of cheesecake

Sounds like we’re done.

But I’ll keep an open mind and expect the unexpected!
