Not surprised. No other playoff team needed to add a goalie. Do you think Vegas or Florida or any other contender would have just sat on league worst goaltending? They would have done what they always do. They would have made something happen and improved their team.

Goaltending was the problem that people wanted addressed. It was #1 A rated problem that was foremost in minds of 99% of fans here. Oilers didn't even touch it or even consider it. What do you expect the reaction to be?

I’m not saying we should have got all of them. I’m saying it’s impressive to not even hit on ONE of the things you needed.
We did get a good player but now we are forcing guys to play their off side which none of them have done all that much which is a risk on its own.

Yeah didn’t need 2 top 6 wingers but we didn’t even get one.

Our current #1 was definitely there with us last year but he is markedly worse this year.

Last year is all fine and dandy but you have to look at how your guys are playing. Our goaltending as a whole is worse.

I would have loved Marchand, or really anyone lol. However, I do understand the challenges of making it happen. Perhaps the ones we want didn’t want to come here or other teams refused to help us out without gross over payments.

Is Laughton and Carlo and Bjorkstrand and Gourde (especially considering the prices) better? Those teams gave up multiple 1sts for players that will arguably have similar impact to the Oilers players, the Toronto duo in particular. I know that everything is very end of the world with you guys right now and I get why everybody is upset as it wasn't a stellar deadline but it's not as dire as some are making it out to be.

Who cares about price? Look at the age of our core. The time is now.
Look at Tampa always trading 1sts. That is the way you do it. We should be trading Sam O Reilly


It all comes back to JJ screwing up the offseason so bad that Mcdari may never win a cup. We should have the right to be upset that JJ screwed the offseason up so bad.

Clearly they let Marchand pick where he wanted to go. Same thing happened last year with Tarasenko to the Panthers. Not a very competitive balance when some teams get such an advantage.
