The Rangers were in San Jose last night. Wings and Sharks.

More Eastern Conf scouts at HP tonight for #SJSharks game than usual -- NYR, BOS (2), PIT, PHL, NYI. Read nothing into it, OK?

Both of those teams have seen their better days. Gomez was playing on a line with Pavelski and Marleau. Thornton,Couture and Havlat. Clowe,Handzus and Kennedy. Galiardi,Sheppard and Burish. Boyle-Irwin. Stuart-Vlasic. Murray-Braun. Burns is out again. Demers was a healthy scratch.

The Rangers were in LA on Wednesday for Detroit-LA. Can't say the Rangers are looking at Ian White because he has been a healthy scratch in both games.

Gaborik is getting $7.5M. He isn't on the 1st unit PP. Gaborik played 14 minutes last night. 11:22 5 on 5. 2:50 on the PP. 3rd line with Brian Boyle. Nash and Callahan are the top right wingers on the team.

IMO, if the Rangers can flip Gabs for a hard shooting Dman on the PP, its something to consider.

or

They try to upgrade the 3C position so Gabs has a better center to play with....

I wonder if the Rangers have interest in Boyle as a rental.

There's no one else on the Sharks who interests me other than Pavelski and Couture, but that's unrealistic.

Its got to be Boyle. Considering our power play struggles. History with Tortorella. Expiring contract.

I still want to see what Detroit would offer for Gaborik.

From the Sharks, I could see Sather looking at Murray, Clowe and Demers if he is available.

Still think they won't blow anything up and will start playing better

Torts hopefully will realize Boyle is a pile and let Sather trade him or Sather needs to be like listen he stinks we are dealing him:laugh:

They did it with Rupp and Powe looks like a good 4th like / PK fit. Also Halpern has played pretty well I think this yr.

Hopefully they can find a C rental or even a guy signed for one more yr at around 2 million or less...........deal Boyle for a depth winger UFA and a mid round pick...................Montreal just dealt Cole for an expering contract in Ryder and a pick, something like that.

btw Eminger has done a good job since he got back. Hope he stays in next game even if Gilroy is ok from the flu

it goes back to the are they really going to deal a 40 goal scorer? I mean if the return is crazy good like a Pavelski , Clowe, Murray for Gaborik, Boyle.......prospects/******..........well they have to consider it

Murray I can see as a #5 D, but he's slowing down considerably. Clowe skates in cement and just can't get in on the play anymore.

I like Demers, but I'm concerned that the offense is so hit or miss with his game. I'd be on board with grabbing him if the price was right, but I don't know if he's the immediate help we're looking for.

Is he a shooter? I don't think Detroit would go for that.

Kronwall has an absolute bomb from the point. Detroit would not move him. He is their #1.

I agree on both. Unfortunately, I don't think Sather cares. He sees guys who can be had who have experience and were better than they are now and he has to pounce.

gaborik gets traded. scores 20 goals in 20 games. not that there's much that can be done about it, it's just how humans work. but you just know gabby goes off if he gets traded. it's more the rangers system than anything, i suspect. i do believe gabby tries hard. he is just a square peg.

If the return is what it should be for him I would be okay with that. The Rangers would have turned a non-asset who they signed for nothing but money into long-term positive assets.

If an organization wants to get to the top and stay the top the opportunity is there. Scout well so your later picks can create solid assets and sign UFA's who can be used towards the end of their contracts to replenish or improve the depth and youth in the organization.

There's just not a lot on San Jose's roster that excites me.

Boyle, Couture, Pavelski do. But They probably won't be trading Pavelski, and no way they deal Couture.

I really like Boyle, despite his age, he's still very good. But, one more year left on the contract...

I wonder who the target would actually be.

None of the top 10 scoring left wingers in the league are going to move. Guys like Kessel and Bobby Ryan who can play the LW but are better on the right, like Nash coincidentally.

Still haven't seen a trade offer I liked for a 40 goal scorer who is still only 31.

Gaborik + Thomas + 3rd

for Boyle + Hertl/Hamilton

?

I am sure it is out there.

Can't edit, but I don't even know if i'd like something like that.

So saw Zuccarello is in the KHL playoffs with his team up 2-0, Sather has not talked to his agent

question becomes is he a better fit than Miller right now? Cause after that everyones roster spot is likely spoken for

Nash, Richards, Hagelin, Gaborik, Stepan, Callahan, Pyatt, Boyle, Asham, Halpern, Powe.....Bickel upfront once in a whole

At the very least Zuccarello can get a 1 yr deal this yr only and add depth.
