Boyle isnt really that much value. he can be replaced like Betts and Dom Moore was from the past.... if that trade was presented to Sather, i bet he takes it and run... Rangers dont really have a physical dman.. not counting Bickel since he isnt that good.. Komisarek at least can play a regular shift.. maybe a new home would help. worth the risk... Rangers need depth on defense that can play for more than 5 mins a game in the 5th 6th defensive spot

Komisarek has a cap hit of $4.5m next season. Automatic non-starter.

The trade deadline should be enticing, because due to the shortened season, the market may be even more geared toward overpayment, because more teams believe they are still in it. However, a team that you can safely project as having a high draft pick is unlikely to be one of those teams.

I'd be looking for a younger second line forward that is a better fit in our system and more affordable + prospect + pick for Gaborik.

Sounds about right.

If I'm Slats, would I take a top 5 pick and a young forward for Gabby? Sure. If I'm a GM with a top 5 pick, am I trading it and one of my young assets for a 32 year old player (no matter how talented)? Nope.

We really do not need to trade gaborik... Why don't we focus on moving/developing Boyle? Maybe getting Kreider NHL-ready down in the AHL? Maybe moving Stu Pickels? I don't understand why everyone thinks we should oust our 40 goal scorer because of 10 bad games in a SHORTENED season...

If sather moves him this upcoming offseason, I will hate him

I'm only up for trading Gaborik if it's a absolute steal so, call Feaster?

For this season Slats should just sit tight, maybe some tweaks in the bottom six and an upgrade at d.

Coming to the draft he should looking for the deal that can help both now and in the future, a young offensive skilled forward and a solid pick. If it's not there, let him play out his contract.

Financial matters come into play in the offseason.

The thoughts of trading him before the deadline border on idiocy.

Zach Bogosian to NYR

id consider moving Kreider to get him.. Rangers need a dman that shoots the puck besides Stralman

'Consider moving Kreider?'

Kreider is nothing special, he is a NA Paajarvi.

Yes, let's use his first pro season as the end all be all.

Can you give him more time that a shortened season to adjust to a new game? He had the same problem adjusting to college in his freshman year.

And before you jump all over his AHL production, yes, it was pretty bad. But again, it's a new kind of game. Let him adjust.

Bogosian is a top pairing defender? :lol

No wonder this site gets the rap it does...

Yeah cause guys come here and make one line statements.

Has Bogo played on Winnipegs 1st pairing Dmen? The answer is yes. Is he a 1st pairing Dman on the regular? That's opinion.

One is a top pairing 2-way NHL defenseman, the other is a mediocre NHL player with mediocre AHL production. Not comparing apples to oranges here.

mediocre NHL player based on a handful of games in the NHL? :handclap::handclap:

and Bogosian is not a #1 defenseman just because he plays on HIS team as 1.

True, but from all accounts (Beacon -AHL Reviews) and his actual NHL play, he's nowhere near ready for Pro Hockey imo. I think if you draft a 3rd liner with the 19th pick, you've done good. Nothing to be ashamed of. I just think he is very similar to Paajarvi, scouts raveled about his speed, size and shot, but like Kreider, he is missing the creativity and tenacity. If you give Ryan Callahan Kreider's tools, he'd be a star player in this league.

Kreider could have been a key part in getting Rick Nash.. why are we going to trade him now when his value is low at the moment?

And it's OK that he's not ready for pro hockey yet. We saw glimpses last year. So we know what we can get. He just has to put it all together. He should stay in the A for the entire season, work hard in the summer, and get ready for next year. I don't think that this is the first time that a player in having problems adjusting to the pro game. It doesn't mean that his trade value is 0.

I didn't say he's a #1, but he's already a top pair guy with significant upside to his game. He's two years younger the McDonagh. I'd give Kreider + Miller + 1st for him.

I don't think it's okay. It really looks like he regressed and is doing the exact opposite of what he did the last playoffs, a more pressure packed environment. He's played like a ***** and never drives to the net. Miller for example is two yrs younger and has adjusted much better with zero previous experience.

Patience. It's a confidence thing.
