If McD and Girardi are both hurt long term, the season is not recoverable. You MUST look at moving Gabby and Richie (if they'll waive those damn NMCSs).

I don't regret the Nash trade for one second, but who ever thought the 1st would've been the most valuable asset going back to CLB...?

Erixon is the most valuable asset in the trade imo.

I expect a big trade soon.

Trade Torts.

I've been sick of the dump and chase, shot blocking, no consistent lines ******** for a while. It boiled over after tonights game.

I want to see some real aggressive hockey being played. Exciting hockey.

There's a reason people like myself were dead against trading one of our defenseman?

Why?

Because on a night like tonight you had Bickel And Gilroy playing D.

oh, and our next game we might have Bickel, Gilroy, Eminger, and McIlrath playing D.

Yeah...

You don't trade a defenseman when you have no depth there.

effing Pejorative Slured.

just outta curiosity, were you sick of it last year when we finished within a stone throw of the presidents trophy?

how about when we were in the eastern conference finals?

No?

you sure?

didn;t think so.

all this franchise does is draft defenseman, yet we don't have any defensive depth? i'm not disagreeing with you entirely, but where do we have depth if not defense?

definitely. don't know how much it'll help, with widespread injuries

honestly, regardless of who we get, i think this Jack@ss coach and his mummy assistant couldnt achieve much anyway..

traded Erixon, which hurts the depth a lot, and we had to use assets to get him.

Skjei is years away...i havent really liked any of the defenseman we've taken since Staal to be 100% honest....no, I didn't want MDZ, I wanted Carlson.

such short-sighted stupidity imho.

absolutely no interest whatsoever in trading one of our defenseman.

This team has the pieces, i am 100% sure of that, they just need to start effing playing.

It starts with Ryan Callahan, Brad Richards, Marc Staal, and Marian Gaborik.

All of them need to be a whole HELL of a lot better.

To be honest with you I wish we accomplished what we did last year with a different system. Always been that way. Im a more offensive person hockey wise.

And if Stepn Boyle and Miller get injured tomorrow suddenly buying out Richards is "pure stupidity".

You can't predict 2 of your top dmen going down in one night. Give me a break.

The conversation was about using a position of organizational depth to fill a position of organizational weakness.

Top 6 without McDonagh and Girardi

Assuming both are out long term, what would your top 6 look like without these guys? Would you pull the trigger on a trade or 2 for defense if you were Slats?

Staal-Stralman
MDZ-Eminger
Gilroy-Bickel

:help:

I'd target a defensive dman that can replace Bickel/Eminger in the lineup once everyone's healthy.

At this point I really feel like we should go for someone with a bigger physical presence than ROR. We're missing that from Dubinsky and Prust. I'm not saying we need to go out and shop for an enforcer, but we sure could use another guy that can deliver big hits and chase after players. The non-reaction to the hit on McDonagh was scary.

I'm just not really sure what kind of player we could look at that brings that kind of game, and can actually play. How much does Calgary want to hold onto Curtis Glencross? :help:

There was no depth. When DZ was injured, the back up was either Eminger or Bickel, you call that depth?

Top end depth. Obviously you want better bottom pairing options. MDZ would be a top 4, potentially first pairing guy on a lot of teams. When healthy he was playing 3rd pairing for the Rangers.

They've got elite top end d depth and weak center depth.

This is looking more and more like the '06 to '07 Mets: take the '06 season by storm, being the best team in the regular season. Then falling JUST short of the final series, getting HUGE expectations going into '07...and...then a collapse. ****.

Just watched the Sharks/Stars games. You can get both Murray and Clowe for peanuts.

Dude, how many D-men do you want? We had 3 of the top 4 D-men hurt. How many teams can take that kind of hit like that an ice a decent D-Corp? Our top 4 is good. Stralman is a very good #5. Sure we're a little week at #6. How many teams aren't? Gilroy has actually played pretty well. What kind of depth do you want 3 of your top 4 D-men are hurt? It's like Hossa, Kane, and Sharp being hurt for the Hawks. They won't look that good anymore.

Honestly, they remind me more of the 92-93 Rangers.
