I want to win keeping intact the largest portion of the core as possible. It means something to me, to watch and enjoy the journey with players who have developed a history with the rangers. To me that means something

that will be Nash, Hank, Mcdonagh, Kreider, Girardi and probably Zucc and Stepan. so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Oh come on.

Wonder how you'd feel if MSL didnt specifically want to come to the Rangers.

MSL signed a 4 year deal. 2.5 years in hes throwing a fit because of an Olympic snub. It is pretty selfish.

Oh please. You can justify Callahan's ridiculous demands as "put your shoes in the player's and you'd do the same thing" yet you can't justify MSL's? Because what? He's not the guy you wanted in return for Callahan? That's the only reason I see you taking such a negative stance against MSL.

That's a slap in the face for a guy that's done immense things for that franchise. He chose Chris Kunitz over him. That's a huge ****ing slap in the face. Kunitz has 1 great year and you can solely thank senior Crosby for that and MSL has carried a franchise on his back for well over 6 years.

I really dislike Dreger. I don't know why.

I do. He's disingenuous. Bent over backwards to try to sway opinion on MDZ to Toronto, cause the GM Nonis is his cousin. Trying to tell the world how great and valuable Jake Gardiner is. Really surprised me how blatant he was about it.

Right there, call it an educated guess, but that's direct from Tortorella to Dreger's voicemail. Kelser for Stepan. Yeah, right.

The two situations are in no way comparable.

Show me where Callahan is demanding a trade.

Any talk invoking Malkin has to grab your attention.

There was a story just before he signed his new deal that he's another guy that wants to get to NY. But then the bum signed!

I keep hearing this, but who are these players? Keep in mind that they have to be on a team that is close enough to the cup that they think adding Callahan for a few months will be worth it. So worth it that they'll trade a player who can be spotted as a potential top 6 player about to break out. Connolly. Who else? Would TB trade Connolly for Callahan as a rental? I doubt it personally.

Probably not, because they don't really need Callahan. He was just an example. I could throw out other names, but people will just pick them apart. I trust that our scouting staff has a list of players they would like to acquire.

Hmmm, Donald Brashear to Glen Sather

Brashear: Sure would like to lace'em up one more season..

Sather: Sure Donnie (as he reaches for his wallet)

Brasher: That'll be $5,000,000,000 boss

Sather: Uhhhhhhhhhhh (cigar drops from his mouth)

Sorry, I've just been disrespected twice by the same general manager who happens to operate my team. I took a relatively cap friendly contract to remain with the team 2 years ago, been a great solider and ambassador/face of the team, and have done everything in my power to try and propel them into a competetive spotlight. But the second i'm disrespected I can't demand to be traded?

And in addition, a guy who is trying to handcuff the front office of the team I want to go to, by demanding ridiculous money that will cripple the franchise moving forward, and refusing to even budge in his negotiating stance... is more justified than I am?

Hmmm.. faulty logic.

Either they're both selfish or they're not. What is it.

I like Dregs, but he panders to his Canadian audience. Rarely does he have first dibs on any American market.

Torts loves Kesler, but he knows Kesler can't play at that level anymore. Kesler played too many games with injuries, and his body has broken down.

Still a hell of a player, but not that dominant center anymore. Used to drive the net hard with speed, but mostly sits in the crease waiting for the Sedins to feed him on the PP.

I believe Boomer because of the NY area country club circuit. Boom would not risk his reputation like that. He is very well thought of.

TOR wants to get rid of Gardner because of his fly by defense. Dregs was pimping him hard while he still had value.

Gardner plays weaker D than Ryan Ellis. Yes, he is that bad. At least Ellis puts in a night of hard work.

I can't wait for MSL to be a Ranger and BRB will STILL argue with people because he feels like being different

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, the fact is, we don't have all the facts. I'm not in the business of nailing people to the cross or burning them at the stake without knowing the entire story.

Brett Connolly might end up being a AAAA superstar. Missing that je ne se qua since he's been surpassed a bunch of TB forwards.

They called up Namestinkov over him today after Kucherov, Johnson, Palat, Killorn, Brown, and Panik.

7 forward prospects ahead of him in the TB organization. 7.

What does that say after he played an NHL season two years ago?

Connolly was just an example. I trust that our scouting staff already knows which players from which teams they want. Yeah, we may end up getting back another Enver Lisin. But we may get another McD. There are no guarantees with any approach.

Is Callahan disrespecting his current contract? No

St. Louis most certainly is. He should've put a crybaby Olympic clause into his deal, I guess.

haha when I say core I mean

Hank Cally Girardi Staal Mac Stepan hags boyle (dubi, artie)

kreider, nash, (to me) stralman, MZA have been added to what that core is.

But when I speak of the core I mean, I mean the homegrown or developed rangers of 2007-2012. To me that was a period of ranger hockey that will always be linked with homegrown rangers.

That doesn't mean he's not being selfish...

First of all, I didnt say a word about Callahan. You're deflecting away from the St. Louis situation with that garbage.

But if you want to get into it, its pretty sickening how Callahan has become a piece of garbage and Martin St. Louis has become a hero this week.

That doesn't mean he's not being selfish...

He has every right to be. There are no restrictions on his free agency. When any man has a wife and kid to care of, you can't blame him for switching organizations for a bigger salary.

That's why I have nothing against Cally. Respect all that he's done, and thankful for what he brought to the Rangers.

Best of luck if he's not with us.
