I don't like the idea of trading Callahan for such a short-term asset like MSL. I know Callahan is a rental but I don't think this team is an MSL minus Callahan away from going on a Cup run.
MSL has shown no indication that he can't play to 41-42-43 years of age. He wouldn't score as much here as with Stamkos, but he is a fitness freak, which is usually associated with long careers.
Peaches and herb could be dubi and cally. Would mean someone from Columbus.
FullTilt Rangers @NYR_FullTilt 14h
@7BOOMERESIASON it's Columbus isn't it?
Vinny Del @madsportsnyc 14h
@NYR_FullTilt @7BOOMERESIASON dubinsky back
Boomer Esiason @7BOOMERESIASON 14h
@madsportsnyc @NYR_FullTilt no
Kinda blows the whole '1-for-1 with a conditional pick' idea.
Someone mentioned Loui Eriksson on the trade boards and that it would be a reunion with Richards.
Food for thought.
Eriksson hasn't been the same lately though.
FWIW, had to dig it up.
Agreed its wishful thinking but to play Devils Advocate, possibly he wants to try and go for a run in NY. If you win a Cup in NY you are 100% legendary. He gets a shot to go after it again with Richards. Provides the offense we need. Its not that far out of the realm. Plus he's closer to home where Im sure much of his family resides. Finishes out his years close to home and playing in NY (which is a large attraction, especially for those on the back of their careers).
His chances for a Cup in Tampa are likely higher than with NYR as of right now, and pretty much definitely in the near-future, so I don't see how he would go to NY for a shot at a cup. There are much more obvious choices of teams to go to, who would pay a higher price, if that were the case.
And, if St. Louis did want to go to New York, and New York knew about it, it would've been leaked. If anything, St. Louis probably wants to ride out his later years with his new BFF, a 60 goal scorer by the name of Steven Stamkos, who'll ensure him a near PPG average until the day he retires. And within a couple of years Tampa looks like they'll be legit contenders.
There's been no indication, from Tampa's side, that MSL wants out.
Didn't Boomer also mention something about grit? That's not exactly MSL's M.O. I feel like there's a whole lot of jamming half-information together to make a theory fit here.

I think the poster meant Cally & Dubi back together on Columbus
as crazy as it seems, louie eriksson?
Fair points, I was simply spitballing ideas as a Devils Advocate. I guess we'll know after today whats going on. Just judging by the information garnered so far, MSL is the one being spoken about, IMO.
