Does Semin fit all of the criteria?
He's signed for too many years. Lacks grit as well.
Does Semin fit all of the criteria?
Funny I just a heard a rumor last week but really didn't think about until someone brought up Louie.
Deal was Louie and a 2nd
For
Cally
Didn't think it was a bad deal but also didn't think it would happen--but it does fit everything Boomer throwing out there.
OLY guy--yes
1st line guy--yes
Peaches and cream--yes Louie played with BR
The only thing I'm not sure about is his contact--I know someone has that answer.
Anyway to be honest if we somehow got
MSL or Patches for Cally I'm all over that then losing Cally for nothing.
Judging by the criteria, it's an eastern team that isn't the Bruins, Leafs, Senators, Pens, Caps, or Devils. If he's going as a rental, that takes Florida, Buffalo and the Islanders out of the mix, leaving Columbus, Hurricanes, Red Wings, Flyers, Canadiens, and Lightning. The player in question was also an olympian. Here's the list of olympians from those teams.
Lightning
Steven Stamkos
Radko Gudas
Ondrej Palat
Richard Panik
Valtteri Filppula
Sami Salo
Canadiens
PK Subban
Peter Budaj
Carey Price
Max Pacioretty
Raphael Diaz
Alexei Emelin
Andrei Markov
Tomas Plekanec
Red Wings
Pavel Datsyuk
Jimmy Howard
Daniel Alfredsson
Henrik Zetterberg
Niklas Kronwall
Jonas Gustavsson
Jonathan Ericsson
Johan Franzen
Tomas Jurco
Tomas Tatar
Flyers
Michael Raffl
Kimmo Timonen
Andrej Meszaros
Mark Streit
Blue Jackets
Marian Gaborik
Sergei Bobrovsky
Fedor Tyutin
Nikita Nikitin
Artem Anisimov
Hurricanes
Justin Faulk
Andrej Sekera
Tuomo Ruutu
Callahan for Tatar would be interesting.
Callahan for Tatar would be interesting.
Could have swore that it was either inferred or stated that the return would be a forward. Plus, there's that whole upgrade portion, which would preclude at least half of that list.
On contract through '15-'16. Not really long term, but not exactly short either. He did say no to Boston however, so unless he lied, I don't think it makes sense.
Looks like he tweeted again.
I'll update my table for the next thread
He also said the deal depends on (1) players not getting hurt OR (2) if player reconsiders $$$
Hagelin is signed and has no say in any money talk. Cally could reconsider Sather's offer and then the deal would be off
See above, he never said that.
Boomer says he thinks player will be in lineup on Thursday. Interesting.
Don't tell me what to see.
I saw after I posted that he said some people wouldn't like the move, which in that case MSL makes sense considering how people think he is decrepit.
The rates on that toll road from Rochester to Syracuse might be a deal breaker, though.
I'm just now reading about it, but do I have most of the points?
- First liner
- Not liked by Rangers fans
- Olympian
- Skill and Grit
- Rangers fans won't like it initially
- One for one deal
- Eastern team, but not Boston, Pitt, NYI, NJD, Philly
This is a pretty strange situation. I don't see what sense it makes for Tampa to deal MSL. They're in the playoffs as it stands now, and they're getting their best player back from the IR shortly.
As far as the olympics bit, did Alfie play with Sweden? There was some bad blood after the Ottawa series and the Hagelin elbow. I certainly wouldn't like that deal.
Caps need a shake up. Maybe MOJO?
