-31- have your bookie call mine, Y'Majesty Reinhold, to discuss your method of transferring the VCash.
Or maybe people see that he's not worth the money he's asking for and he's already declining.
For 6M, he needs to produce like Jonathan Toews, Thomas Vanek, or the Sedin twins.
Who will all make considerably more on their next deals.
This is what people do not get.
They want Callahan, good or bad, to sign for what players of his caliber signed two years ago. Salaries are rising and trending towards $2m per 10g scored. Today he is worth close the $6m range, anything less is on the GM to negotiate down too. The guys mentioned above, may make that today based on a market they signed in a few years ago but that was then, this is now, they all would get more if they signed today. Most likely, the twins would be playing on seperate teams for the 1st time in their NHL careers.
Not you specifically Greg, but people need to get over this in general. Especially in the Donald Fehr era. You will soon see player salaries escalate exponentially.

I'm not...
I'm not...
I'm just saying that being upset with a bad contract for Callahan doesn't mean I'm suddenly a disloyal fan. If I begin to loathe Callahan as an overpaid player as he continues in his career, it's not a question of being loyal.
In the end it will turn a fan favorite homegrown captain into a hated overpaid shell of a fan favorite.
This place is going to explode like no other day in HF history if this deal is made.
Let's Jeff Carter him. Give him the 6 year contract with a NTC andf then trade him before it kicks in lol.
I believe what you're describing is optional. A team and player can agree to extend it to the contract signing date, but don't have to.Not allowed anymore in the CBA. A team can't agree to give a player a restriction clause which begins on July 1 and the team trades the player on June 30. Girardi has a no move in the first 3 years but it began when he signed the extension on Friday.
(b) A no-Trade clause or a no-move clause that is negotiated as part of an extension of an SPC entered into pursuant to Section 50.5(f) may become effective immediately upon registration of, but prior to the effective date of, such SPC extension, provided: (i) the Player would otherwise have been eligible as of the immediately preceding July 1 prior to signing the SPC extension to have a no-Trade or no-move clause pursuant to Section 11.8; and (ii) the Club and the Player, who are parties to such SPC extension, agree that the no-Trade or no-move clause is effective immediately upon execution of the SPC extension (or at some later date agreed to by the Club and the Player) and evidence such agreement in writing in the SPC.
You missed my point. Look at the post I was responding to. I also used the word "some" fans, that doesn't mean all fans. Certainly doesn't mean you. I bolded out this sentence.
It's not unrealistic to question the loyalty of fans that are going to hate an overpaid shell of a player BEFORE THAT EVEN HAPPENS! If Callahan resigns and is a shell of himself in a few years AND fans are booing him it would be a disgraceful. The guy would have sacrificed his body for the Rangers, for the enjoyment of the fans that are booing him. Does that sound loyal to you?
Maybe you already loathe Callahan....I don't know...
Yep. Clearly states it's not a given, but is an option given if both team and player agree.11.8
New clause.
Me neither, AINECHope_Smoke @Hope_Smoke 2m
Mckenzie brought up centres like Stepan, Kadri, Johansson, Jenner, B.Schenn as the guys Van would take back for Kesler.

A testament to the value or Ryan Kesler, or the value of Derek Stepan?
I would probably not want to trade any of those players for Ryan Kesler.
