Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. As much as I would like Bennett in MTL, a team offering over 7 will regret it. While he bring tones of intangible, the offensive production isn't there. Feel like a Gallagher type of situation.

I am sorry, but people quoting Bennett's regular season stats as a correlation to his worth don't really understand hockey. The dude was a huge part of FLA's SC win and TC's 4N win. The dude is a gamer. If I am going to overpay for a player, he is it.

There is no denying his "added" value to a team and this is why people are looking at giving him north of 7M per season. Would he not bring these intangibles, nobody would want to give a 7x+7M to a guy that never had a season of 50pts.
Like I said, I like him alot, but there is a direct parallel and a lesson to be taken from Gally: like Gally, he's been injured often and has a style of play that does not age well. They are both hearth and soul type of guy and will bring you into a fight. You need these guys for sure. But we all know where Gally stand right now in his career and what impact this has on the team. So... Buyer beware that is all i'm saying.

Even if he's not signing a new deal, it would be dumb for Carolina to do what is suggested. They should just ride with him in the playoffs. Too bad they paid a high price..
