Gallagher who first hit 50pts in a season at 25. Slaf did it at 19.You just described Gallagher
What do you guess Slaf will be hitting at 25?

Please, person who definitely isn’t Slafy, just stop posting these ridiculous proposals. Especially on the main boards.Just fooling around here.
But what about Laine and the Canes wants to team up to play with Aho and Rantanen.
This would be a crazy first line.
Laine - Aho = Rantanen (Finland kick ass line)
MTL : Laine (50% retained) + Armia + Kapanen (All finland)
for
Canes : Seth Jarvis
Seattle has no interest in trading Beniers and even if they did that contract looks awful for a player who we already have a much better version of in Suzuki.I would rather trade one of our first picks for someone like Beniers or Mercer, if available.
Let say that Seattle is ready to move on from him, would you do that trade as a Habs fan ? He's signed for 7x7.1.
It's a tough call...
We are, healthy, a borderline playoff team. And the young core has shown great resolve and buy-in.
If we are still in the WC hunt by the deadline, KH will have to balance "rewarding" the young core by either keeping the roster quality in place or potentially adding to it vs sending the distinct message that "this year doesn't matter" & selling current assets for futures... That risks seriously deflating the group and undermining the buy-in.
Hopefully, they get Evans & Armia extended on reasonable deals, and find a hockey trade solution for Dvorak/Savard (getting a mix of futures and right now assets in return).
If they keep Dvorak, Gallagher, Anderson, Armia and Evans on the team they could be worse even with Demidov. At the very least Dvorak should be gone and Gallagher needs to be bought out. Evans can go if he doesn't come cheap. Add Beck, Davidson and Demidov, Reinbacher if he is ready, and there is no chance they are worse.Yes it would be hard to do especially if they continue to climb upwards.
I'm ok with signing Armia if he wants to stay here and accepts a 1-2 year deal at less than he is making now (which I doubt, but maybe)
I'm convinced Evans will want the best contract possible. This is his one chance. He is very replaceable. If we sign him to that deal we are taking away space and cash.... I want us to be a contender in 3 years. Evans is not a 3C on a contender. Pass unless he signs for 3 (maybe4) years.
Personally I think the Habs may be a slightly worse team next year and sellers again for the last time in many years.
Of course I am also really hoping they win the next 10 games and make a historic run with Dobes carrying the cup at the parade!
The time to shop him was over a year ago.its time for KH to shop Matheson.
He is a blunder at the wrong time of the game.
As a vet he does not have good hockey sense.
Coughing the puck up vs the Devils, really that is a vet move?
Time to go. Start the phone calls KH
And have no vet defensemen then. Unless it is an incredible offer he is needed this season. And next season unless they add a FA d and Reinbacher is ready. The time to shop him was over a year ago.
Now you just gotta wait and see what can happen in the off season.
Actually it's the exact opposite. Need Matheson and Newhook. Evans and Armia can be replaced with players who have some scoring ability.I hope we keep Armia and Evans and trade Matheson and Newhook.
The biggest need for this team right now is stabilizing the defense. Hutson-Matheson as a 1st pair is not durable as an option. Hutson needs a guy with great mobility but way more solid defensively. He literally needs a RH Guhle.
Offensively I think with the arrival of Demidov, we will be more than ok, I would even say top 10 in the league. I would add grit and toughness on the bottom 6 though. A guy like Olivier would be great.
You can sign a vet dman that brings as much as he does in the defensive zone for less. And have no vet defensemen then. Unless it is an incredible offer he is needed this season. And next season unless they add a FA d and Reinbacher is ready.
based on what he's said and what they want to do, Matheson isn't getting shopped until next trade deadline. Assuming they don't resign himits time for KH to shop Matheson.

I don’t think Evans is easily replaced. Like Danault I feel his lost will be felt in a major fashion if he leaves. Those types of reliable player aren’t dime a dozen in the UFA market and cost value on the trade market. Beck ain’t the replacement yet.Yes it would be hard to do especially if they continue to climb upwards.

Ghost is done. Don't want him for 2 more years. He wouldn't have signed here anyway. You can sign a vet dman that brings as much as he does in the defensive zone for less.
The Habs could have traded Matheson and signed Ghost and have cap space.

Newhook is on of the few guys who forces the D to back in. He creates a lot of chances that currently have not had any results. I feel like there is more to Newhook and to early to give up on him. Trust me he pisses me off some games but the work ethic is there.I hope we keep Armia and Evans and trade Matheson and Newhook.

Slaf's regression this yr and impending UFAs (Armia/Dvo/Pez/Evans/Savard) will force management to kickstart trade talks if not already begun. Unfortunately, these guys bring little value. Slaf is still young and is still seen as part of the solution, however that contract might make it or break it for Kent.Habs biggest need is a solid right shot Dman and a top 6 forward. If Hughes/Gorton are able to do this it will greatly improve the teams chances for playoffs. We got guys sitting in the wrong chair and not sustainable long term. Find the 2 pieces that will work for you long term. They have nobody on the farm other than Gustav Lindstrom, Logan Mailloux and Orvil Ruchenchuker is still rehabbing his knee and Mailloux is not ready. Stock piling picks etc will only get you so far management owes it to the team and the fans to make these improvements. Nothing is impossible when you legit want to win. We have all seen teams like Carolina, Vegas and the Leafs always trying to improve. Habs are being left behind and that is on management. If they are unwilling to make these fixes they are better off to sell UFA players and tank.

Totally different playerA 5'9" C?? Get outta here bergy, you tried that with Desharnais. Doesn't work.
