Anderson top 15 in hits for RWs
Pezz top 5 in hits for LWs
Slafkovsky 16th in hits for RWs
Guhle top 60 in hits for Ds in 44 games!
Struble top 60 in hits for Ds in 56 games!
Arber top 60 in hits for Ds in 70 games!

Again, you need to refine your definition if you don't like the players that meet it.

Also, anyone saying that Slaf is not tough to play against with that size is being disingenous. Gallagher being a pain in front of the net is absolutely tough to play against.
Seems like the Bell Centre hits counter is too generous with his tracking.

Anderson’s pecks and hugs shouldn’t be counted as hits.

Slaf is definitely a force and tough to play against. But you’re too charitable with Gallagher, he’s a smart player (always has been) but his motor is gone so he’s not hard to play against.

Canadiens need trade for high end right shot D in near future. Because Reinbacher is pushed back a year and he wasn't impressive in camp. Mailloux raw skill but not close. Savard is getting up there and Barron had good moments but how long will that last?. Next off season at latest. According to when right deal comes along.

Noah Dobson will be RFA.

Habs aren't likely to offersheet him. Doesn't seem like he wants out of long island/won't sign long-term, but didn't know that about Matthew until the end of the season.

The problem is that RHD pool is extremely shallow around the whole league. Dobson and Bouchard are the only high end players who might be available next year, but not sure why any of them would come to Habs.
The player we might target is Erik Cernak if things go wrong in Tampa this season.

The toughest teams in the league have players going to war for each other even if they aren't goons. Outside of Xhekaj, nobody on the Habs will do anything meaningful to stand up for their teammates. When he got hired, Hughes made it a point that he was upset by the lack of response when Monty got runover by Kassian, yet nothing has changed besides Xhekaj becoming a regular. It's moreso about the team identity than filling up the team with bruisers.
This nasty business could actually have a silver lining even if we can't see it now.

LD/RD was never such a big deal until Babcock used it as an excuse to keep Subban off the ice at the Olympics. Ever since it seems every coach in the league is scared to play guys on their off side.

Well these posts aged poorly. Multiple players went after Greig. Xhekaj took out Stutzle when he chickened out on everyone and then Dach himself made Greig a punching bag.
Aged poorly. Right after the hit, the four guys on the ice just stood there and did nothing. Oh, and our top 6 guy had to fight the scrub.

What happened right after the wifi hit? Brady went right after him.

It was embarrassing.

Dobson going to be expensive, 4 first I imagine. I was thinking somebody more along lines of an Andersson.
Yeah, but rhen Andersson is expensive in a year, or two.

Dobson fits the age group more.

Those 4 1st for an offer sheet, if not matched and Dobson signs it, it can be 4 firsts in the next 5 years, so the Habs could keep their 2026 1st and then lose the next 4 after that.

That said, Andersson is still a solid option. Dobson just fits a bit better in my opinion
