I could get behind this.
Even if let's say they don't make the wild card, this gives us a player we would hope Reinbacher could become and same if we kept the 1st rounder we'd again hope to obtain someone who could eventually become a Dobson level player on defense or forward.
This would lock up the defense for awhile and look pretty solid. I love the pairings.
Hutson Dobson
Guhle Carrier
Xhekaj Savard
Struble
I have a feeling though this would be an off-season kind of move though.
I really do like Dobson's potential but I do wonder how much he can play stable D. His giveaways/60 is higher than Matheson this season. And in the last two seasons, it's very comparable between the two in terms of giveaways/60 and takeaways/60.
Yes Matheson is older but these two are very comparable when you look at the numbers (Blocks, Hits, Giveaways, takeaways, Points). And when you compare Corsi for and zone starts, Matheson gets more Defensive zone starts than Dobson.
Very interested in trading for Dobson if he became available but at the same time, I think we are overlooking the improvements Matheson is making on the D side.
We should still be selling vets at the TDL since they are irrelevant to our comeback
Depending on what is returned yes.
If we are offered a 3rd rounder for Armia (for example), why do this? We are loaded with grade B prospects already.
Savard probably does not get the 1st this time around. Probably a 2nd and B prospect.
Evans is the one who might get solid offers but we kind of need him if we chase the playoffs.
Dvorak should stay if we are chasing the playoffs. He's only got to return a 4th rounder or worse.
