I'm dead serious. What do you find sarcastic about this deal?I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that this is an example of sarcasm.

Dach has far less potential than EP, clearly in my opinion, but he comes with a 3.5 million dollar contract that will soon expire.
The Habs have enough cap space and trade capital to acquire one great player, in my opinion. It does depend on who's available as you say, but my preference would be a young RHD or an old impact forward going for one last hurrah.
What you’re offering Vancouver for an apparent head case.I'm dead serious. What do you find sarcastic about this deal?
Well that's why I'm offering so much, for the retention. Without the retention I don't even want him.Our team doctors would be able to figure that out. Done at age 26? Doubt it very much. Same was said with Eichel.
I totally understand the concerns. What about the concern about waiting for Dach to be the player we think he can be and it taking years to find out? There is a risk there too right?
Do you think there will be another chance to add a player with EP's skill? Either through trade or UFA?
I'm dead serious. What's wrong with it in your opinion?
1) No. Look again. In this deal I have Vancouver retaining 3 million to get him down to 8.6 for us.
2) I'm giving them rebuild assests. That team isn't winning anything or going anywhere.
The quote reply got messed up somehow.
Canucks will not be retaining for 7 years. You can forget about that idea.
I don't think they want to rebuild. I think they want to retool. My offer helps them retool and rebuild. It hits a lot of context for both sides which is how trades happen. A rebuild will be forced on them in about 3 years IMO.
In fairness, I remember people thinking that Ovechkin was done back around 2011 or so when he got fat. He was in fact a lesser player then, he finished a season around -40 and was getting relatively few playoff minutes, he had a 13 year 9 million dollar contract and people thought he was done.
But he overcame.
The time to acquire great forwards is when they're on a low.
Well that's why I'm offering so much, for the retention. Without the retention I don't even want him.
totally agree.YES! Being overly conservative will turn our team into a mid pack team for far too long.
EP's has size/skating and an elite level shot (like Laine). He's not coming to Montreal on an island by himself (Like Laine). If we can pull it of and not touch our core, make it happen!
EP has lit the fire on this thread.
KH what are you up too? lol
Apparently, Islanders are in the Pettersson sweepstakes. Rumors are Dobson & Danny Nelson.
That's actually a really good offer. Canucks need someone behind Hughes - Hronek to move the puck & help set up offense.
Canucks could play Hronek-Dobson-Willander as they're RD next season, which is a vast improvement over what they have this year.
NYI don't have the cap space for Petey this season, but they do next season.
Nelson is a 3rd/4th line center depth, but a decent prospect.
totally agree.
I will say this. KH always said. he would spend assets. lets see
They wouldn’t. Unless they wanted to rebuild. My deal gives them 2 sure fire NHL centers + a few magic beans.I'm offering more without retention
I very much doubt they will be open to retaining for 7 years.
What would you give for JT Miller because he's the one that is most likely to move.Look at the Canucks center depth with and without EP? You will see that they will want a center in return. Dobson is a great offer and they do need a D but their center depth is horrible (even with EP).
It really depends on what direction the Canucks want to take. Would they like a Cozens/Byram or Barzal+ return better?
Imagine if Dach was on pace for 70 pts and 25 goals this season. I'd be curious to see what our herd says then. Probably say no to Dach and Flames/Panthers 1st for EP.
Doesn’t matter - Miller reportedly won’t play for another Cdn marketWhat would you give for JT Miller because he's the one that is most likely to move.
We may not even have to make a move depending on Dach and Hage showing that they are viable top 6 centers at the NHL level. Dach may ultimately settle in as a winger, who knows, so Hage may be the ticket behind Suzuki.1. EP is playing bad and has a monster contract
2. EP would cost the CH so many assets that hey have compiled, no thanks
3. KH needs a centre but not this way with VAN
4. So many posters here dissed the PL rumors and we only have up a D man and got a 2nd back
5. Just think of what posters here would do if we gutted the farm to get EP and he floats out there
6. This server would die
SURE ISCheap talk but it's fun as long as some stay chill.
Is EP really on the trade market? We can only guess.
Good because I didn't want him.Doesn’t matter - Miller reportedly won’t play for another Cdn market
yupEichel
Stone
Meier
Hertl
O'Reilly
What other big forwards were traded in recent memory? Does Reinhart count? I'm just trying to gauged the average assets exchanged in trades for productive forwards to give you a sense of what a habs package would look like.
I don’t think so but I do believe they’d value hometown boy Jake EvansI wonder if Vancouver would actually value Gallagher. This whole situation in Vancouver stems from a lack of leadership so bringing in a leader like Gallagher who would also probably mesh stylistically with Miller and double down on the attitude that they should want to instill of being a hard working team. And of course he's a local with SCF experience. It know doubt comes down to how much Gallagher's resurgence this past year+ is seen by other teams.
Obviously wouldn't be the main piece and they will need a center going back which almost has to be Dach. But could something like Dach, Gallagher with retention, and then maybe Mailloux and a 1st isn't unreasonable.
At 50% retention on Gallagher, it offers something that many teams can't give them, capspace. Which they can in turn around and immediatly use to get one of the NYR players who are all on the trade block. And with Mailloux and the 1st added that gives them an asset base to actually make that next trade(s).
LOL no.I wonder if Vancouver would actually value Gallagher.
Yes, i should have remembered the exact package you offered with the multiple multiple iterations you gave.To be honest, I don't remember the exact multiple packages I offered over a few months talking about Laine. It was definitely higher than just Harris and there was no 2nd coming with Laine. Are you saying that you knew it would be that low? If so, you are reaching. Nobody expected it to be that low and this was about the Blue Jackets not wanting to take any salary back. I'm pretty sure I had Anderson in several of my packages and how can you forget that? Please quote the right context when trying to make a point like this. If I posted Harris for Laine/2nd, you and others would have laughed at that as well
And yes, I already said I am offering more to get the conversation started. What's your point? It's going to be much less than what Eichel return or the same? I think it will be more (if EP is traded).
