Exactly, you have nothing. If we drafted him, maybe you’d have a point. We didn’t, the rest of his draft class is irrelevant. f***ing pointless
Not understanding something doesn't make it "pointless", it provides an opportunity to learn... With the right attitude.

14th on the team in points despite Top 6 icetime behind the likes of 4th line rookie Emil Heineman, the worst veteran in the NHL in Christian Dvorak and tied with noted offensive dynamo David Savard. There’s your context.
Right.
From that "context" he's 14th on the NHL roster. Remind me again how many forwards are in the Habs organization? Pretty sure it's more than 28... So what your saying is he's above average among the forwards the Habs have the rights of...

I don't think the word context means what you think it does.

He could double his point total tonight and he’d still just be on pace for only a 31 point season
If he performs as well as he did the last 20 games of last season for the next 20 games of this season, he'll have 5x his point total & be on pace for a 50 point season.

:biglaugh:

You’re just being obtuse now. He’s worst among the starting forwards. There are 4 forwards below him in points. Rookie Kapanen with his 12 games. Career AHLer Condotta with his 7 games, career pressbox bum Pezzetta with 3 games and career AHLer Barre-Boulet with 2 games.

But yeah, Newhook and his 4 points in 20 games (15 mins per game) is "average". Not dissimilar from your thought process

You can keep the petty personal insults to yourself.

Selective emphasis of context is a hallmark of poor assessments and garbage takes.

But yeah, Newhook and his 4 points in 20 games (15 mins per game) is "average". Not dissimilar from your thought process
A 20 game sample size as the basis for determining the permanent ceiling of a 23 year old player is a pretty terrible way to make an assessment... But if that's your thing, enjoy!

If it’s true that they lowered their standards to picks then no excuses not to get it done. We have all the picks+B+C prospects in the world, get Jiricek.
He is probably a dud. If Waddell had anything to do with drafting in Carolina he knows talent. And Kekalainen didn't. Get him cheap or forget it.

Frank Seravalli last night said 5 or 6 teams made offers for Jiricek. He thinks the return will he high. A big right shot 20 year old D-Man. He said Wild has best chance. Never mentioned Montreal.

Only 5 or 6 teams interested does not seem to be a valid translation for a high return. I bet Montreal never bothered renewing their low ball offer.

I still think nothing happens and Jiricek needs his AHL time, all season, then he's probably worth more at the draft.

Isn't Schaefer a left defenseman. No interest unless all the good forwards are gone.

I wouldn’t put Schaefer aside so quickly; he looks like a legitimate #1 D; head and shoulders above any other defensemen draftees from what I gathered so far. The difference in-between forwards doesn’t seem as steep.

Habs would then have Matheson (UFA year, salary retention possible) + CGY/FLA 1st to + PIT/MTL 2nd to fetch a top-6 center by either climbing in the draft or in a trade.

KH might have put his phone down. lets go for top 3 pick
at think that at this point, you may as well embrace the tank again. That said, there is work to be done: Armia and Dvorak need to be catapulted to Mars, Savard need to be traded. Matheson should also be traded. He should be looking for a 2C, some grit and maybe a replacement for Savard.

We are looking for the next Dach/Newhook....

Curiously polling: Would you trade Hutson for Jiricek 1 for 1?
Hutson right now, is probably the only bright spot and reason I still watch, cause I've completely giving up on this team. Like that 5 year rebuild plan, ya right, make it closer to 10!!!
