If we drafted Jiricek, and his development was the same here, most here would want to be trading him too.
I mean the board wanted to trade Slaf the second he was picked, so yeah.

He's also been jerked around by the organization and his coaches.
I'm curious what his former coach Pascal Vincent thinks.
He's still 20, and they haven't exactly given him time to learn in the AHL. Seems like mismanagement to me. Looking at his hockeydb page is giving me whiplash with the constant yo-yo-ing.
Jiricek would be insurance on Reinbacher, not Mailloux. We need to do this.
I am fine having both Mailloux and Jiricek on this team. Reinbacher's injuries require insurance. Let's just agree to disagree. He can be insurance for both, depending on how you look at it.Big, shoot first, offensive defenseman who needs to learn to defend at a NHL level. It's insurance on Mailloux.
Given Dach's slow start after his injury, it's a very good observation you've made: Jiricek would be insurance against Reinbacher's injury. He's an RD for heaven's sake, aren't they meant to be worth as much as Centres?Jiricek would be insurance on Reinbacher, not Mailloux. We need to do this.
Look at the TOI they'd have, not their playing profile. Jiricek is meant to track toward top3 TOI, same with Reinbacher. Mailloux is more of a boom-or-bust type long-shot.Big, shoot first, offensive defenseman who needs to learn to defend at a NHL level. It's insurance on Mailloux.
I hope you gave Mesar that same courtesy. He's also been jerked around by the organization and his coaches.

All the excuses that were valid for Slafkovsky's slow start also apply to Jiricek -- and even more, he's a d-man adapting to a bunch of new angles given the rink size change. Also, the significantly higher rate of physical play in NA hockey vs European hockey. It takes some time.
If the 13OA was worth gambling on Dach, a similar such pick (or equivalent value) is worth gambling on a player whose prospect profile was or is comparable with Reinbacher's (even higher at the time of draft).
Not everyone. Not me. I didn't prefer Slaf over Wright or Cooley or Nemec, but I definitely trusted our management and was willing to give him and them time.I mean the board wanted to trade Slaf the second he was picked, so yeah.
With the Cap going up, a combination of Rainman/Mailloux/Jiricek at our right side on D would make us the envy of the league at that position.I am fine having both Mailloux and Jiricek on this team. I've always been positive about Mešar. I see him taking a longer road to the NHL but if he does, he will be someone we'd be very happy with.I hope you gave Mesar that same courtesy.
I think the chances all three are NHL defensmen are high, so I agree. Guhle and Hutson are already top 4 D, so things would be looking good. With the Cap going up, a combination of Rainman/Mailloux/Jiricek at our right side on D would make us the envy of the league at that position.
and said give more time to KKI mean the board wanted to trade Slaf the second he was picked, so yeah.
I don't think it will take a blue-chip prospect nor would I consider Wright a blue-chip prospect at this point either. It will take some nice assets, though, which we have plenty.Which blue chip prospect are posters ready to deal for Jiricek?
I don’t see CBJ trading 6OA 2 years removed for a bag of pucks.
I do potentially see a Wright for Jiricek swap…
Calgary's #1I don't think it will take a blue-chip prospect nor would I consider Wright a blue-ship prospect at this point either. It will take some nice assets, though, which we have plenty.
I'd offer CBJ Dach for Jiricek straight up.He's still 20, and they haven't exactly given him time to learn in the AHL. Seems like mismanagement to me. Looking at his hockeydb page is giving me whiplash with the constant yo-yo-ing.
Personally id rather KK in our lineup rn than Dvorak..and said give more time to KK
Both KK and Dvorak both suck. I'd rather neither.I'd offer CBJ Dach for Jiricek straight up.

That's not how this worksBoth KK and Dvorak both suck. I'd rather neither.
calgary #1 and barronI was thinking Calgary's first and Struble.
I think Jiricek needs a full season in the AHL. The guy is coming from the Czech league. Not only did he need to adjust to NA ice, but then he was constantly yo-yo'd up and down.Jiricek would make the most sense if we can switch him with a few young Dmen, so we can actually play the guy. Would the Jackets take Barron and Struble for him ?
No, they wouldn't.. you need to offer a similar high pick prospect back (Dach) to be considered fair.. they are not going to give him away for chopped liver.Jiricek would make the most sense if we can switch him with a few young Dmen, so we can actually play the guy.
