Now, does that mean a deal is imminent? Not exactly but I do expect something to be done sooner than later...but hold your horses if you're expecting something done by this weekend...although it only takes one phone call and things can change quickly.
That's what I love about this board. You get your fix of hockey talks and laughter along the way. Thank you!

It won't. Dach will sign a contract similar to Guhle. Hutson will probably sign a contract around 7m.

Also Gally is one major injury from retiring to LTIR. Gally and Anderson contract won't be a problem.
I think that's a good guess on Hutson but it's difficult to predict at this point what will happen with Dach.
One thing's for sure, the yearly 5% cap increase won't be enough for extending those 2 players (and a bunch of others too).

Well, this settles that.
So Nick is trash...

I don't think he's an NHLer on a good team.

He's got a great shot and is a pretty good playmaker, but he's absolutely useless without the puck and he's as soft as wet tissue paper.

He's undersized and his skating is below average, and if you're going to make it in the NHL at his size, you need to either be a very elusive skater, or play with some significant edge, he does neither.

He absolutely needs to be a Top Six player, because he is useless in the bottom six, and if Nick Robertson is in your Top Six, you have a terrible top six. I don't think he's a long-term NHLer.

As I said, I wouldn't claim him on waivers, he's just not good enough to be an every day NHL contributor.

Why? Why is Roy a bust? That's so weird. He's the same age as Slaf basically.
Roy is not a bust, but to be effective, he will need to play in a top 9 role and he may end up like Barron, redundant and without a "chair". He also not the typical 3rd line W so... given the over all construction of the team... the question need to be asked: can we leverage him in a trade to improve elsewhere?

I would try to package him and Newhook for example for a 2C.

This x 2000.

Now HuGo only need to find a team with 2 second line centers who's looking for a team with an excess of 3rd line players.

I don't see Roy and Newhook getting a good 2c at this time. They would have to be really producing to get that return.

Best shot our second top 6 C are Hage, Dach, Demidov, and our 2025 1st. Monahan like ufa would be a nice stop gap.

Roy and Newhook might get us nice bottom six sandpaper if we can't get that in other ways.

Roy can do it all to get to the NHL. Look at what he did with Bedard in the WJC. It's crazy how people are ready to get rid of him, we have literally two top 9 wingers on the team?

Improve elsewhere? Like what? Getting a top 9 winger, which is one of the glaring hole on the team?

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but you'd trade those 3 players and a 1st for a Monahan type player?

How is his trade value low now?

Apparently he and Trouba have been the Rangers worst pairing this year, struggling significantly.

Doubt the Rangers would view that as a reason to "trade low" on a 24 year old dman with a good trackrecordand loads of potential, but fans tend to be impatient and expect gms will be the same... some are, Drury I don't see as operating that way

I'm not doing that. Mailloux has a decent chance at becoming a better player than Jiricek.

Mailloux's ceiling is not that of a physical #1-#2 two-way D that eats up minutes.
That's what you're looking at with Jiricek.

This is a kid who was dominant against men at 17, in his D year. And was too good for the AHL the following years.

This isn't close
