Why? What do we have to prove ? Are we trying to compete ? By all accounts, we're trying to be in the mix, and we're not even in the mix. What are we losing by having Dach struggle at C ? No second line ? We don't have one.

He was doing great last year in training camp.

My sanity?

Seriously, you need to at least be able to work hard, compete & put in an effort. He's not doing any of that at center. He's a player who's helping to bring down the entire team. Soft backhand passes to no one in our zone, can't defend to save his life, doesn't move his feet to gain position but tries to stick check, there's a long list.

He severely lacks confidence right now. Putting him in a situation where you know he's going to fail isn't going to help.

Instead, he should stay on wing at least until January 1st. He needs positional consistency and some time.

We'll see how his game is going in the new year.

So? With all that is said here? We promote him to the 1st line with our best player to help him get carried? It makes absolutely no sense lmao. Were not competing, were building.

I've never understood this meme, Ryder, Halak and a 2nd seems like a pretty solid package of value.

Halak was without doubt a #1 goalie, and Ryder a consistent productive goal scorer, a 2nd rounder never needs to be scoffed at.

I believe the meme come from many people making proposals centered around this package back then.

These are the guys I'd be trying to get:
- Schenn
- Gudas
- DeMelo
- Manson
- Clifton
- Ristolainen
- Ceci

We don't need anything flashy. Just some grit/toughness and/or stability on the right side to eat up minutes and not be a liability. I realize these guys are doing those roles with their current teams but maybe they're available, who knows.

My guess. A stick or a frisbee. Maybe coffee, if the development coaches do their job.

Sorry, Runner couldn't help myself.

Schenn would be a good, veteran, reliable #4 D who also wouldn’t be too expensive. Would love to see him added. Manson would also be a great addition but likely pricier.

how do we expect this coaching staff to build anything without a single precedent in their resume ? once again to all ticket paying fans, come waste your money on sub-par entertainment at FULL price while we(the rookie coaching staff) try and figure it all out .Oh and by the way we dont care about winning right now ,but were trying to be in the mix .:biglaugh:they've even got the fans confused.

His value for the team drops significantly if he cannot play center. I would keep testing him at C. Just switch him temporarly with Evans and give him some time to recover at 3C or 4C.

Exactly. We know he can be a supporting character at W. He's a top 9 winger. What we don't know is if he's a top 6 c, or even a top 9 c. We need to know.

Yeah. He has to play less minutes vs lower lines. Put him with Heineman and Armia to compensate for his d-play weaknesses.

There are so many questions for the future of this team and only few of them are answered.
G- no idea
D- Guhle and Hutson can play top4,
Barron, Reinbacher, Mailloux, Struble, Xhekaj are all unknown
C- Suzuki can play top6. If we extend Evans, we have 4C, other than that, no idea on 2C and 3C
W- Slaf, CC and Dach can play top6. Laine and Demidov might become even better than those 3.
Season is already lost, so lets just try to find some answers and then react with trades to fill the gaps.

Hard to know. We can for sure recoup part of the picks. Would not be surprised his value is the same as Shaw when we traded him so low 2nd and low 3rd which is less than what we paid but his contract his good enough and he is young enough to still have value if KH decide to give up.

Draft picks can always be traded. More often than not when teams decide to rebuild and clean house they want draft picks in return of their players.
I has responding to people suggesting we trade Jake Evans for a draft pick. We do need some vets with our main rooster. We already have enough prospect. Evans has been a good player for us. We could still be a good player for the next 4 years.

I agree i tend to say we keep him. But you know if he asks for to much money or another team offers a late 1st for him...

I'd say you're a bit negative, but it's hard to blame you, lol.

G- We know Monty can be a mid-range starter, we know Primeau is probably a mid range backup.
D- We know Guhle and Hutson can both play top pair. We know that at least Barron, Xhekaj and Struble are all #6s.
C- Suzuki is a top line center.
W- Slaf, CC and Dach can play 2nd line W. Laine and Demidov are most likely two more but we can't paint them there.

Basically we have clearly:

xx-Suzuki-xx
Caufield-xx-Slaf
xx-xx-Dach
xx-xx-xx

Hutson-Guhle
xx-xx
Struble-Xhekaj
Barron

xx
Monty
Primeau

As of now that's what we know, lol. Pretty sad but C1, D1 and D2 are some of the hardest spots to secure, and it's nice that we have those.
