I’ve sent enough of Primeau. I’d swap him for Dobes and see what he can do in the NHL. Primeau is not an NHL goalie and isn’t tradable. Would easily clear waivers, and if he doesn’t, great.

I definitely think he doesn't clear waivers. He'll get picked up by Pittsburgh, who's goaltending is somehow even worse, or Winnipeg, as the last selection in draft they would be able to send Primeau to AHL immediately. Jets have no goalies in system right now, as they're all hurt. Guys are on PTO.

Habs have a light schedule in the next 2 weeks. I expect Monty to start all the games in that period so they have time to sort it out. I'd be surprised if Primeau is put on waivers before they know they have a better solution.
They could ride with 3 goalies for a while if they want.

Yeah, we can definitely run with Montembeault. We have 2 days off play Minnesota, a day off play CBJ, a day off play Edm then 4 days off play Vegas, then 2 days off for a back-to-back against Utah & CBJ. CBJ is November 27th.

That gives him 2 full weeks to work on his mental game.

If we retain, can we get a team to take potentially a flyer on Gally?

Having quite the year so far. I think he'd be willing to move to a team who had a shot at a cup. Could be wrong.

I don’t think anyone will pick him up because he’s been god awful now and hasnt shown anything at the NHL level.Jets are the best team in hockey and I highly doubt they’d put Primeau in as a backup. But again, even if someone was desperate enough to take him, it’s no loss. Habs need an upgrade on him if they hope to be somewhat competitive. Heck, Monty should be the backup to whoever they get.

100% sure Dobes will be given some games in the NHL this year.

Being the back up next season or even split the games with Monty.

What i would hope for is he is ready to play 30-40 solid games when Fowler comes in during 2026-2027 season.
We have a 22 man NHL roster. When RHP comes back, he either goes down or Condotta goes down. We stay at 22.

Bring up Connor Hughes to play the next two games that Monty sits out. Dobes can play two in a row if he has to. If Hughes plays well, waive Primeau.

Anthony Mantha is done for the season, maybe Calgary could be interested.

In the 2002 movie, Peter Parker doesn’t need glasses — he’s only wearing them cause his aunt convinced him that it would help him not strain his eyes as he’s a voracious reader.

The meme developed separately, with its own twist where Parker is only seeing clearly when he’s wearing the glasses.

Hughes is doing incredibly well in Laval, and Dobes was hurt for little bit, which is why Hughes played more.

I'd wait until we have more clarity as to how Dobes is health-wise before making any moves to call-up Huhges.

If we start to turn a corner in the next 5-7 games and Dobes' health holds up, then maybe we could do as you've said.

Not only that, but if Primeau continues to suck, I would actually get him to go through waivers and send him down to back Dobes while calling-up Hughes.

I doubt he wants to leave Montreal. The way his contract is structured only makes sense to ensure the Habs can never move him.
