Tuch is great, but there are a lot of pieces on Buffalo I would try to acquire. If Hughes can, he should try to swing a deal with them.
i wouldn't .
Keep the money to sign free agent Rantanen next summer. Add that Russian kid, Hage, Beck ...i love that

The player Montreal needs from Buffalo is Tuch. He’s fast power forward with tons of grit. Eventually double Xhekaj double Tuchs. Love it!
Too old won't even be a top six guy in our window going by the curve 99% of 6'4 guys follow.

Players of such magnitude and talent are signed long term by their respective clubs before hitting free agency. Keep dreaming though. Stamkos was an exception yet older, but we all see how that turned in Nashville.

absolutly no cap space to re-sign him and Habs could offer a lot of $$$$$$

Sabres and Rangers open for business. I think NYR could use a guy like Matheson to spark the offense.

As mentioned elsewhere, this was always an absolutely atrocious take even at the time.
Please. You yourself were saying he might be even better than PLD just over a year ago.

Guy loses half his speed after missing a year and people wonder why he looks lazy. He looks like someone who lost half his speed and lost a year to injury. Like Caufield looked like a guy who's shot was off after a shoulder injury. The takes on this board this year have been brutal.

Not sure where PLD came from into this discussion, but yes I always scoffed at the thought of Dach being better than Suzuki.

He is very lazy with horrendous decision-making leading to turnovers and penalties. That has been the case since the start of the year with no improvement. I'm very annoyed with the Caufield comparison because Caufield went from looking like a 1st liner to a 2nd liner. Dach went from a 2nd liner to the worst player on the team. But hey, I guess we can throw a parade that he can tie his own skates now nearly halfway into the season.

Dobson and Barzal would immediately lift this team rebuild wise. And we’ve got the assets to do it.

In your first post you literally say Dach can become the team's best player. I don't care if the comparison annoys you. Coming off a shoulder injury 34 games into the season, Caufield wasn't even pacing for 20 goals. That's not a top 6 player when you're getting first line minutes+PP and are 5'7". For most teams that's a player you send down in the AHL. And what's with the exaggeration about throwing a parade ? Guy has lost half his speed and is behind the play as a player who relied on zone entries and his skating. Why would you not look at his skating and agility is improving ? It's quite literally the thing to look at.

In retrospect yes. Not at the time. He has the dominant 1C size and skill, and in junior was a beast - had potential to become a 1C but doesn't look like he will come close now.
